Six years ago I wouldn’t have believed I’d be here.

The version of me back then was lost. Sick, exhausted, and convinced this was just how life felt.

Healing my gut gave me my body back.

But the real shift was everything that came with it.

My energy. My clarity. My purpose.

That’s now my mission to do for others.

If you feel stuck in a body that isn’t working the way it should, this is your sign.

You’re not broken. You’re at the start.

It took me 4 years to fully heal my gut.

I had candida overgrowth. SIBO. Leaky gut. Hypothyroidism.

All at once.

It affected my brain, my mental health, my focus, my skin, my sleep, my hormones.

There were stretches where I felt like I’d never come out of it.

Here’s what actually worked:

1️⃣ I stopped guessing and got comprehensive bloodwork. I needed data, not theories.

2️⃣ I removed the inputs that were destroying me. Seed oils. Plastic. Tap water. Fluoride. Toxic cleaning products. Conventional skincare. Even healthy foods that I couldn’t tolerate (temporarily)

3️⃣ I rebuilt my circadian rhythm. Morning sun. No artificial light at night. Anchored sleep.

4️⃣ I regulated my nervous system. Breath work. Grounding. Cold exposure. Time in nature. Stopped consuming fear.

5️⃣ I supported weakened systems. Stomach acid. Bile flow. Methylation. Mitochondria. The gut barrier.

6️⃣ THEN I addressed the overgrowths. Candida. SIBO. Co-infections. In phases. With proper prep.

The order mattered. The phases mattered. The terrain mattered more than the protocols.

For years I thought I had an anxiety disorder.

I’d be sitting somewhere completely safe and feel like the world was about to end.

Racing heart.

Tight chest.

Knotted stomach.

My brain was sure something terrible was coming, even when nothing was wrong.

I was offered SSRIs three times.

I tried therapy, meditation, every “manage your anxiety” tool on the internet.

Some helped a little.

None of them got to the root of it for me.

What nobody checked was my gut.

Your gut and brain talk constantly through the vagus nerve.

Your gut makes most of your body’s serotonin. Your microbiome affects inflammation, neurotransmitters, and how your nervous system handles stress.

When I finally dug in, here’s what I found in my own body:

👉 Leaky gut letting inflammatory toxins (LPS) into my bloodstream
👉 Candida overgrowth
👉 SIBO driving histamine reactions that felt exactly like panic attacks
👉 Low stomach acid leaving me low in B12 and folate, both critical for brain chemistry
👉 A nervous system stuck in fight-or-flight after years of gut inflammation

Once I started fixing my gut, the anxiety lifted. Not overnight.

Not from one supplement…

Layer by layer as my body came back online.

Today the unexplained panic is gone.

The 3am wakeups are gone.

The racing heart is gone.

If you’ve been told your anxiety is just stress or just in your head, ask deeper questions.

Your gut might be part of the answer.

This is what hospitals used to look like.

Patients wheeled outside for sunlight and fresh air.

Rest, clean food, and time in nature were part of the treatment, not an afterthought.

Somewhere along the way, medicine moved indoors and toward managing symptoms with drugs.

Modern can medicine have its place. If I’m in a car accident, take me to the ER.

But for chronic health, the foundations still matter most:

👉 Sunlight
👉 Real food
👉 Fresh air and nature
👉 Movement
👉 A regulated nervous system

These shouldn’t be “alternative.”

They should be the starting point.

That’s what we focus on inside my community: root-cause health through circadian rhythm, nutrition, environment, and mindset.

We’ve normalized a lot of things that are quietly wrecking our health.

👉 Ultra-processed food
👉 Artificial light at night
👉 Chemicals in our homes
👉 Stress that never shuts off
👉 Barely any time outside

Most people call this normal.

But normal has people tired, anxious, inflamed, and sick.

You don’t have to accept it.

You can learn what’s really going on, make better choices, and change how you live, one habit at a time.

And when enough of us do that, normal starts to shift.

👉Sunlight
👉Real food
👉Time in nature
👉Real community
👉A way of living that builds energy instead of draining it

If you want help getting there, that’s what we do inside my online health community.

On thyroid meds and still feeling off?

Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s aren’t the same thing.

Hypothyroidism means your thyroid isn’t making enough hormone.

Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune condition where your immune system attacks your thyroid, and it’s one of the most common reasons people end up hypothyroid.

Medication replaces the missing hormone, but it doesn’t stop the attack.

That’s why so many people still feel like garbage on it.

The gut is a big part of this, since about 70% of your immune system lives there.

That’s why when it comes to improving thyroid health naturally, I start with nutrients, removing trigger foods, and repairing the gut lining along with supporting other weak areas of physiology ( inflammation, liver health, hydration etc..)

One tool I use every day is red light therapy to support thyroid health and overall health.

In a 2012 randomized, placebo-controlled trial, Hashimoto’s patients did 10 near-infrared sessions on the thyroid.

Their antibodies dropped, and at follow-up almost half no longer needed medication.

I do 1–2 sessions a day, 20 minutes each, on my thyroid and the rest of my body using @emrtekinc panels.

Your gut can’t heal if your body never leaves stress mode.

And for most people, it never does.

Your vagus nerve is the longest nerve in your body. It runs from your brainstem through your throat and heart, all the way down to your gut. It’s the main wire behind “rest and digest.”

When vagal tone is strong, your gut can do its job.

When it’s weak, everything slows down.

Your vagus nerve helps regulate:

👉 Stomach acid
👉 Digestive enzymes
👉 Bile flow
👉 Gut motility, including the cleaning waves that help protect against SIBO
👉 The mucus layer that protects your gut lining
👉 Gut-brain signaling that affects mood
👉 Inflammation throughout your body

Modern life is built to shut it down.

Things such as chronic stress, unresolved trauma, poor sleep, endless scrolling, eating on the run, no time outside, shallow breathing etc..

Almost every chronic gut case I work with has weak vagal tone underneath it.

How to rebuild it:

👉 Cold water on your face and neck
👉 Humming, chanting, gargling, singing
👉 Slow nasal breathing with long exhales
👉 Time in nature, phone left behind
👉 Bare feet on the earth
👉 Breathwork
👉 EFT tapping
👉 Eating slowly, sitting down, no screens

You can take every gut supplement out there.

But if your body is stuck in stress mode, none of it will work the way it should.

Most people try to heal their gut by adding things.

Such as probiotics, bone broth, supplements etc..

But healing starts with subtraction.

Remove the daily inputs working against you, and your body finally has room to repair.

Here are 7 to start with:

1️⃣ Seed oils

Heated seed oils break down into aldehydes that irritate the gut lining and drive inflammation.

2️⃣ Glyphosate-heavy foods

Conventional wheat, oats and grains are often sprayed with glyphosate, which research links to microbiome disruption and a leakier gut lining.

3️⃣ Fluoride toothpaste

Most people swallow some every time they brush. Animal studies show fluoride exposure can disrupt gut bacteria and irritate the gut lining. Switch to a fluoride-free option.

4️⃣ Non-stick pans

Scratched or overheated coatings release PFAS “forever chemicals” that end up in your food and can disrupt your microbiome.

5️⃣ Harsh cleaning products

Many contain hormone-disrupting chemicals you breathe in and absorb every day.

6️⃣ Processed food

Inflammatory, nutrient-empty, and engineered to keep you eating.

7️⃣ Long-term acid blockers (PPIs, antacids)

Stomach acid is essential for digestion, absorption, and killing pathogens. Long-term suppression works against all three.

Healing your gut isn’t just about what you add. It’s about what you stop letting in.

👉Your breakouts.
👉Your joint pain.
👉Your random anxiety.
👉Your 3am wake-ups.
👉Your sugar cravings.
👉Your brain fog.
👉Your allergies.
👉Your sinus issues that never clear.

You’ve probably been treating them one at a time.

Different doctor. Different pill. Different fix.

But for a lot of people, they trace back to the same place: the gut.

When your gut lining breaks down, inflammation doesn’t stay put.

It shows up in your skin. Your joints. Your brain. Your immune system.

Everywhere except where it started.

So instead of chasing 8 symptoms, start with the source.

If any of this sounds like you, comment GUT and I’ll send you the link to join my gut healing community. by @itsdaverobinson

You’re going to die one day.

Not to scare you.

To wake you up.

Once that really lands, things change.

👉You stop putting off your health.
👉You stop numbing out.
👉You stop playing small.
👉You start eating food that fuels you.
👉You start protecting your peace.
👉You start listening to your body and trusting your gut.

This isn’t a rehearsal. This is your life.

So start today:

👉 Get outside and feel the sun on your skin
👉 Eat food that gives you energy, not takes it
👉 Slow down and breathe
👉 Take the risk you keep thinking about by @itsdaverobinson

I was diagnosed with IBS and told there was no cure.

Just manage it.

Maybe try low FODMAP.

Probably for the rest of your life.

Today, I’m symptom-free.

Here’s the thing 👇

IBS is a label, not an explanation. It describes your symptoms. It doesn’t tell you what’s driving them.

And too often, nobody goes looking.

When you actually investigate, here’s what can be hiding underneath:

👉 SIBO (hydrogen, methane, or hydrogen sulfide)
👉 Candida overgrowth
👉 Parasites
👉 H. pylori
👉 Leaky gut
👉 Low stomach acid and digestive enzymes
👉 Sluggish bile flow
👉 Vagus nerve dysfunction
👉 Chronic stress and a dysregulated nervous system
👉 Hormonal imbalances affecting motility

Usually it’s more than one.

IBS feels incurable because nobody’s checking which of these you actually have.

You get a basic stool test, nothing acute shows up, and you’re sent home with a label and no plan.

My turnaround came when I stopped accepting the label and started digging.

Comprehensive bloodwork. GI-MAP testing.

Matching the data to my symptoms.

Fixing the right systems in the right order.

If you’ve been told you’ll just have to live with IBS, you might not have to.
