Your most powerful planet 👇🏻 One of my FAVORITE exercises to do with students and clients is finding the planet that’s managing the greatest portion of your birth chart. 🤯 Think of it like finding one of the main captains of your ship! Here’s the quick version: 1️⃣ Write down the 7 traditional planets: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. 2️⃣ Starting with your 1st house, go around your chart and place a tick mark next to the traditional planet ruling each planet and point. ✨ Leo Rising? Tick mark goes to the Sun. ✨ Saturn in Scorpio? Tick mark goes to Mars. We’re using traditional rulers for this technique! 3️⃣ BONUS: If you have access to the bounds, repeat the exercise using bound rulers too! If not, don’t worry about it. 😊 Which planet ended up with the most tick marks? 👀 Find it below! 👇🏻 ☀️ SUN: Leadership, visibility, confidence, purpose, creativity, and becoming fully yourself become central themes throughout your life. 🌙 MOON: Relationships, family, caregiving, emotional intelligence, connection, and creating safety are major life themes. ☿ MERCURY: Learning, teaching, communication, writing, business, curiosity, and exchanging ideas become your superpowers. 💕 VENUS: Beauty, relationships, art, harmony, community, diplomacy, and bringing people together shape your path. 🔥 MARS: You don’t shy away from a challenge. Action, courage, strategy, competition, and getting things moving are central to your life. ✨ JUPITER: Growth, wisdom, hope, teaching, spirituality, travel, and helping others find meaning become recurring themes. 🪐 SATURN: Responsibility, mastery, commitment, patience, leadership, and building something lasting define your approach to life. What you need to know 👇🏻 Oppositions feel like enemies staring each other down or playing a completely unfriendly and very hostile (😅) game of Tug of War! Key dates to know 👇🏻 Mercury will be in Scorpio from September 30 - December 6. 🕵🏼Think like a detective! Investigate even deeper! Be unafraid to talk about and learn about taboo, scary, ugly, or weird topics! Target the truth! Trust your instincts! On October 7, Mercury conjoins Venus retrograde at 8 degrees of Scorpio, where they will exchange information and become intimate players in each others’ stories! 👀 🔙 Between October 24 and November 13, Mercury will be retrograde in Scorpio, moving from 20 degrees of the sign to 5 degrees…just 3 degrees away from where Venus stationed retrograde and then had a chat with Mercury 🤭 THEIR STORIES ARE INTIMATELY INTERTWINED AND SCORPIO WOULD HAVE IT NO OTHER WAY! 🤪 On November 4th, we experience the Mercury Cazimi at 12 degrees of Scorpio. Here are the deets 👇🏻 Mars just left the sign of his fall (Cancer) and entered a sign that he secretly LOVES to be in…Leo! 🦁 He will be there for a longggg time: Sept. 27, 2026 - Nov. 25, 2026 and again in 2027 when he retrogrades back to Leo from Feb. 21, 2027 - May 14, 2027! 😱 So, let’s start with what this change will feel like 👇🏻 For context, Mars has been slogging through Cancer for 6 weeks, where he constantly had to check in with the Moon to see if we “were in the mood” or felt physically well enough to take action. 😅 Now that Mars is in Leo, Mars no longer answers to the Moon but rather to the Sun! 🌞 ✨ While the Moon is emotional, the Sun is rational. ✨ While the Moon is constantly changing, the Sun is the most consistent planet in the entire Cosmos. ✨ While the Moon is concerned with the present moment (like how I am feeling RIGHT NOW), the Sun is concerned with the vision and the ideal. This means that our action and willpower goes from: ✨ Mood-dependent and inconsistent to vision-inspired and consistent! If you ask me, that is a pretty sweet bargain! 😍 For any Scorpio or Aries risings or people in Scorpio or Aries profection years, you especially are going to feel this boost! We will all get some juju back! 🤸🏼‍♀️ The downsides though? 🤷🏼‍♀️ ✨ Mars will be copresent with Jupiter in Leo. These two together can be a powerful, juiced up team, but they also egg each other on with very few limits…so be careful of overdoing it, especially once Mars conjoins Jupiter! ✨ Later in the transit, Mars will conjoin the South Node in Leo, which will temporarily drain our energy levels, motivations, and desires to act. 😅 ✨ Mars entering a new sign also means that Mars’ heat, conflict, action, and desire to sever and ruffle feathers will enter a new house / area of life. Empty houses explained 👇🏻 One of the BIGGEST misconceptions about birth charts is that an empty house means you won’t experience that area of life. 😳 No planets in your 7th? No relationships! 💁🏼‍♀️ Empty 10th? No career! 💁🏼‍♀️ …someone should probably tell Will Smith, who has an empty 10th house. You know, famously unemployed and unknown. 😂 An empty house is NOT an absent area of life. Every house has a story to tell‼️ So how do you find it? 👇🏻 👑 FIND THE TRADITIONAL PLANETARY RULER OF THAT HOUSE. Then investigate THAT planet: its sign, decan + bound, house placement, aspects, and overall condition. That planet is essentially managing the affairs of the house, and its placement tells us SO much about your experiences, strengths, challenges, and desires within that area of life. 👀 ✨  Ex. If the ruler of your 2nd house of money + resources is in your 8th house, you may resource yourself through 8th house topics: managing other people’s money, inheritance or a partner’s resources, mediumship, death work, financial advising, etc. 💰 But you’ll also need to take into account the signs in both houses and which planet we are looking at. Every detail matters! Looking at planetary rulership connects the houses together and reveals stories you’d completely miss by only looking at the planets sitting inside them! What you need to know 👇🏻 Saturday’s full moon at 3° Aries is no small, cute, or light full moon. 🫣 It may feel emotionally volatile, frustrating, hard on the physical body (especially for day chart folks), and all around explosive and wild! 💥 Here’s WHY 👇🏻 Full moons are already high energy, emotional/intuitive climax points. But this Moon is in Mars’ sign AND being squared by Mars at the anaretic degree of his fall in Cancer. 😱 Mars in Cancer is emotionally sensitive; think action taken from deep hurt. 💔 At the last degree of the sign, he’s also extra LOUD! Mars squaring the Moon can challenge our physical bodies and emotional worlds, making us more irritable, frustrated, and impatient. 🔥 BUT the Moon is also sandwiched between Neptune and Saturn. 😳 Neptune can heighten emotions and intuition while creating confusion or uncertainty. ✨ Then, as the Moon applies to Saturn, it’s like putting on a weighted vest: fear, self doubt, obstacles, or delays may arise. 🪐 Ok, but at least the Sun is in Venus-ruled Libra?! 😍 NOPE! 😂 Venus is in detriment in Scorpio AND averse to the Sun, so she can’t offer support. The Sun is also in fall, leaving it less equipped to fight back against all this Mars. 🙈 Basically…it’s gonna be HOT! 🥵 So: 🔥 Channel your emotions productively. Move your body, scream into a pillow, focus on a project. 🔥 Think before you speak! All this Mars may have us saying something we regret. 🔥 Pour into yourself. What you need to know 👇🏻 Astrology is a many-layered, deeply nuanced ancient system. 🪐 And while I LOVE that astrology has become so popular, a lot of that nuance gets lost when we reduce an entire birth chart to just planets in signs. 😅 So if you feel like you’re missing something, here are 3 places I recommend looking: 1️⃣ THE LOT OF FORTUNE Think of this as your FATE, the life circumstances you encounter by no volition of your own. It speaks to circumstances, events, and experiences that happen to us, particularly those that aren’t within our control. Your Lot of Fortune is NOT where you get “lucky” or have success…it’s all that happens TO you, both good and bad! Its sign, house, ruler, and condition can reveal major themes in your lived experience that you may not immediately see through your planets alone! 2️⃣ THE LOT OF SPIRIT If Fortune is the life circumstances you encounter, your Lot of Spirit shows the life you CREATE. Spirit speaks to intentional action, choices, ambitions, vocation, and what YOU actively bring into being. When clients ask me about purpose, this is one of the FIRST placements (and main placement) I look at! 3️⃣ THE DECANS + BOUNDS OF YOUR NATAL PLANETS THIS is where planets in the same sign start becoming very different creatures. 🤓 Every sign is divided into smaller sections ruled by different planets. So two people can BOTH have Mercury in Virgo, for example, while their Mercuries answer to completely different additional planetary influences based on their exact degrees. And that adds SO much nuance to how the placement actually expresses itself!
