“Devyn, you are an Ironman.”

Those five words made every ounce of pain worth it.

For the past 6–8 months, I’ve dedicated myself to chasing something that, just a year ago, felt like nothing more than a dream. I never truly understood what an Ironman demanded until race day.

The 7,500+ feet of climbing on the bike absolutely humbled me. Every hill took a little more out of me. Then came the moment that nearly broke me—walking into the transition tent knowing I still had to run an entire marathon.

The urge to quit was real.

But so was the determination to keep moving forward.

Before this, I had only completed two half marathons and one Olympic triathlon. The thought of finishing a full Ironman would’ve sounded impossible. Yet somehow, one step at a time…

We. Got. It. Done.

To my family and friends—thank you. There truly is no Ironman without the people behind the athlete. Your prayers, encouragement, and belief in me became the fuel I leaned on when I had nothing left.

This wasn’t about finishing first. It was about refusing to quit when everything in me wanted to. It was about proving to myself that I’m capable of far more than I ever imagined.

This is, without question, one of the greatest accomplishments of my life—and the most fulfilling.

Lake Placid, thank you for the challenge.

On to the next adventure.

Veni, vidi, vici.
I came. I saw. I conquered.

Fantastic race yesterday, but definitely the hardest half marathon I’ve ever done. It was so damn hot—nobody told me I signed up for a spa day. 🥵🔥

Ended up taking 2nd in my age group, so that was a nice surprise.

Huge shoutout to my friends who signed up last minute and got it done. 🤙 Some of them were running their very first race, let alone their first half marathon, with barely a month’s notice.

Proud of everyone who showed up, embraced the suffering, and crossed that finish line. On to the next one. 🏃‍♂️🔥 taken in McAllister Park by @itsdevyn.duh

Swim. Bike. Run.

What a fantastic race on a beautiful day. After months of training and falling off the wagon a couple of times along the way — I finished my first triathlon. Olympic distance.

This was a great test to see how everything works and what’s coming before taking on my first full-distance goal. I learned a lot, met incredible people, and made new friendships throughout the experience. Absolutely unforgettable from start to finish.

Now it’s time to take everything I learned and put it toward the main event for 2026: Ironman Lake Placid. by @itsdevyn.duh

Half Marathon — 1:46:41 🏁

What a journey. This Half Marathon was my first ever competitive anything, and I’m so thrilled to have done it. My original goal was 2 hours… and I crushed it.

I’ve been training for months, and it feels incredible to finally see the work pay off. At the beginning of this year, I never would’ve imagined accomplishing something like this.

Thank you to all my friends and family who cheered me on. I love y’all so much. My health is my new wealth, and I’ve been locked in on becoming the best version of myself. The road hasn’t been easy—I’ve failed plenty—but I’m making progress.

It was amazing seeing everyone out there and running for their why, and I hope everyone felt the same sense of accomplishment I did.

What’s next?
