Last week, I had the honour of being part of an amazing movement: Dear Iran🌷

A night filled with our culture, art, and a spark from the community in Los Angeles.

All with the purpose of echoing the voices of our brothers and sisters 🦁✌🏽

@obeygiant , Shepeard Fairey - a massive voice in the arts and activist community, one of the few brave enough to not only speak up, but dedicate an entire mural in @melroseartsdistrict at @thefameyard

A full-circle moment for me personally, being in the diaspora and struggling to find a place on how to help over the last few months.

It was a pleasure using our creative vision at @blackops.ai .ai to help bring the full direction and visual experience for this amazing event by @weare_refugee to life.

Somebody once had to talk people into getting in the first car.

Every way you had travelled before that involved an animal. Something you could rein in. Something you could calm down.
⠀
Now here is a machine that just rolls. Nothing alive steering it.
⠀
How do you trust that?
⠀
People were not stupid for being scared. The fear was the right one. We cannot control this thing.
⠀
They were just wrong that it would stay that way.
⠀
We figured out cars.
Then airplanes.
Then nuclear weapons.
Same panic every time.

And every time we built the thing that made it safe.

Brakes. Traffic laws. Air traffic control. Treaties. Inspectors.
⠀
We have never met a technology we could not build the answer to.
⠀
So when someone tells you AI is the one we cannot get our arms around, ask them what they think we did every other time.

The panic is normal. It has never been how the story ends.

A engineer quit Anthropic (company that created Claude) posted a tweet, and the internet decided AI was going to end the world.

Nobody checked how long he’d actually worked there.

Six weeks.

Six weeks inside the company, and that tweet got passed around like a leaked internal memo.

One potential fact, and the whole thing reads differently.

I’m not telling you he’s wrong. I’m telling you nobody waited to find out.

Here’s the part that matters for you.

When someone posts the second something happens, they’re not informing you. They’re catching a topic before it cools. Good strategy. Terrible service.

If they wanted to help you, they’d wait for the reporting.

Speed and accuracy pull against each other. You can tell which one somebody picked by how fast they hit post.

When that tweet dropped I thought it was wild too. I just didn’t say anything.

A few days later the outlets that took their time were telling a completely different story.

Next AI headline in your feed, ask who posted it and how fast.

The people rushing aren’t your saviours.

“Small freedoms.”

I made this piece in January when the uprising first started, but never released it.

I think a part of me didn’t know how to.

When your people, family are living through fear, disconnection, and uncertainty, posting anything can feel too small.

But this was a way to put some of that feeling somewhere.

Through this video you’ll see actions that are normal to many of us in the west.

Things people should never have to fight for.

Been working on something that feels personal.

Over the last few years, I’ve had deep experiences that shaped the way I think.

About business, creativity, pressure, growth, faith, media, AI, and the people who are actually building the future in real time.

Some lessons came from wins. Most from losses.
