Whoever follows me knows I usually do not post lengthy messages out here - posts and stories are my way of saying "thank you" to labels and producers for the music they sent me so I can keep on doing my weekly mixes.

What happened three times in just one week - I recognized music created by platforms like SUNO. Now, I've probably developed an ear for this "stuff", since the hats and high frequencies are the most revealing that it isn't human-made. Before accusing anyone, I used three different online AI-creation checkers, and they confirmed (with certainty between 91% and 98%) that the tracks were AI-generated.
I think it's only fair to ask labels to be a little more thorough and run the demos they sign through such services and avoid this in the future. I know that labels are struggling to make a buck out of music releases and I'm fine with AI -Generated cover artwork (although as a designer, I would say this is also not good). So let's leave the artwork aside - but if the MUSIC you release is also artificial, what is the product you are trying to push to the audience? I find this really disappointing and I guess it will become even harder as time goes by, to tell which one is AI work. I would understand if you generate some ideas, and take them and recreate them musically so at least you've put something that is YOURS in there. But a whole track - lazily generated by SUNO? This is unacceptable.

Not going to name labels or artists here - out of politeness. But please, don't do this.

This week’s episode is dedicated to Clay van Dijk - a true pioneer and cornerstone of the Dutch progressive house scene, whom we sadly lost recently. Clay’s passion, talent, and contagious energy inspired so many and left an indelible mark on our community. Monday's mix is a heartfelt tribute to his legacy - he will be deeply missed. Rest in Peace, Clay. by @itsdphrag
