Basketball gave me more than a game.

Blessed and honored to represent my family and my country, Guyana 🇬🇾.

We came into this tournament ranked 12th and finished 6th. While the result wasn’t what we ultimately came for, I don’t believe our placement reflects the heart, grit, poise, resilience, and togetherness this team displayed every time we stepped on the court.

Many counted us out—and that’s okay. We never stopped believing in each other, and every game reminded us of what we’re capable of. This tournament wasn’t just about wins and losses; it was about growth, representing something bigger than ourselves, and laying another foundation for Guyanese basketball.

Every experience teaches you something. Every setback prepares you for what’s next.

“Everything will make sense someday. So for now, laugh at your mistakes, smile through the tears, stay humble, and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.”

There are moments in this journey where all you can do is keep showing up, keep working, and keep praying—even when it feels like nothing is changing. There were days I wondered if God heard the prayers I whispered after the workouts, the tears, the setbacks, and the waiting.

This opportunity is more than just basketball to me. It’s a reminder that God has been working the entire time, even when I couldn’t see it. Something I’ve dreamed about for years is finally becoming reality, and experiencing it in His timing makes it that much more meaningful.

I’m walking into this next chapter with a grateful heart, knowing every delay had a purpose and every season prepared me for this moment. 🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾
