I’m putting out my first song in over 2 years next Friday, September 18th.

It’s the 3rd single off of my 3rd album, One Blink, which is done and will be out later this year.

I had a pretty visceral reaction in my body when uploading this song. Not because of the song itself, but because of how long it’s been. I’ve put out 30 or 40 songs since 2018 and it was a lot of work for me to get any of them to receive play. None of it ever happened organically. I got really in my head about this and overthought a lot of things. I lost a lot of momentum. You need to be delusional to make music and expect anyone to hear it, and it becomes really difficult to start again if you stop long enough to let the delusion wear off.

I don’t have much of a marketing plan at all for this album. Truth be told, putting out an album is poor form for an artist of my size. In 2026 it just pretty much guarantees that some of the songs will not be heard. I know I should release them all as singles and not put the album out until every song is out already. And for every single I should have [insert number here] pieces of content to go with it. But at some point, an artist has to make stuff and move on. I’m only one person, and trying to optimize every song has only caused me to slow down and overthink.

At the end of the day, I love these songs and I’m proud of them and that is what success is to me.

Anyways, the song is called Fantasy (Kick It with Me) and it takes place in 2019 right around my 24th birthday. It’s about how we fantasize about people and then when we live out the fantasy it doesn’t live up to the expectation we had of it in our heads. I hope it resonates with some of you. It was written by me, produced by me and @thejohnjfox with John also handling mixing and mastering (in typical fashion). Thank you and I’m excited to be back❤️ taken in Los Angeles, California by @itsevanknapp
