I emerge from social media detox and Thanksgiving to present a beautiful shot when all I want to do is sleep for a month and avoid my phone like the plague.

Swipe to see our process! This was one of the first frames I painted, creating a 3D model of the environment in Blender and then trying out a palette and paint style closer to Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2. That option used a base of lineart that was directly exported from the 3D model.

Ultimately we shifted away from the Sailor Moon esque style and landed on the final frame painted by Ben Stephens! I love the emotion our animator captured in this shot as the main character is faced with a big decision while all the adults in her life pressure her to do what they think is best.

Had the privilege of learning from @drkhang and @hc.marked at @warriorartcamp while working on this piece. Their direction pushed me to think more deeply about mood and storytelling through lighting. I've been working toward capturing the feel of 90s anime paintings, and this one's a personal milestone.

Alternate lighting versions now live in my portfolio. by @itsjaa_mee

So I decided to paint the piece I worked on yesterday. It was quite challenging, so I eventually abandoned that task and moved on to a more difficult one because why not run away from one problem and create another ptsss 🥰
A shout out to @j.u.l.eez, who takes on the even harder tasks of sculpting and animating! by @itsjaa_mee

It's so random, but all I can think about today are onion rings.
I made some props in @claresim_ workshop recently, and just want to play around with the layout. Looking at these makes me happy 🌚 by @itsjaa_mee

Just finished a line art workshop with @claresim_ at @warriorartcamp , and it was absolutely amazing! I've always been a huge fan of manga style, but it always seemed to be out of reach, so this workshop is exactly the push that I’ve been looking for. I highly recommend signing up for Clare's class the next time she teaches one. Should I attempt making a mini-comic now 😳 by @itsjaa_mee

Just wrapped up an incredible background design class with @arthurloftis at @warriorartcamp! These past few months have been an absolute blast! I've always been obsessed with anything cyberpunk, so it was so much fun to spend time creating the backgrounds in class. I’ve learned so much and can't wait to continue exploring this exciting journey!

A huge thank you to @arthurloftis for being such an amazing teacher! You're an inspiration to us all.
