I can’t imagine a better picture that portrays my Jordy.

His gentleness knows no competition. He has been the most doting, present, and sacrificial husband to me. He is exceedingly kind. Uncommonly attentive. Extraordinarily loving. He embodies the commandment for husbands to lay down their lives for their wives. I’ve seen his faith blossom. I’ve seen him color the atmosphere of our home with understanding, grace, love, perspective, faith, and order. His love for me exudes purity. There is not one in the world like him. Cyewt lil’ life update for the owners of the unanswered texts sitting in my messaging app:

Been v into taking pictures of my back lately because I’m in my mysterious elusive little doe baby with a bow in her hair era. Sorry I haven’t gotten back to you, I’m busy cultivating sad girl artist vibes. Part of me likes that you worry. Anyway, last week I traveled to a music festival in Jackson Hole, Wyoming called Heaven on Earth—and it fully lived up to its name. Jackson Hole is a place where the sun doesn’t go down until 10pm in the summertime, and the sky looks like a heap of rainbow embers after it’s been set on fire and burns for awhile (swipe right for that mental picture.) I went with my two bestest friends and ran through fields of tall grass towards wild animals because city girl Jamie can’t resist a cow grazing in a pasture. And I’ve never seen a buffalo before. And while I’m still not country girl smart, I’m not sure I wanna be. I rather like myself these days.
•
And although I questioned my decision to move to Tennessee, you don’t have the time, and I don’t have the vocabulary or eloquence to recount the story of restoration, redemption, orchestration, and goodness God has written for me since I got here…and, to be fair, has been writing for me since before I was put on this earth. Full circle moments are a cute little thing we share, and He knows that they absolutely set me on fire, kind of like the Wyoming sky…I’ll let myself burn for awhile. 🖤
•
And for those wondering, or to those who have hearts to understand, that’s what I’ve been doing in Tennessee. I’ve been burning—gathering fragmented pieces of myself that have been scattered to parts unknown, sticking them into a furnace and watching them burn—with the hope that I may come out on the other side purified, and whole, and free, and, if I’m particularly blessed, half as beautiful as the burning sunset sky in Jackson. And I’m not there yet, but I’m almost. And maybe almost is all I’ll ever be…almost whole, almost healed, almost beautiful, almost home—I’m not sure, but of one one thing I am…I’m on my way and I’m closer than I’ve ever been. 🌄 🤍 taken in Jackson Hole, Wyoming by @itsjamiieking
