A week ago tomorrow, I embarked on one of the proudest moments in my career, singing the national anthem at PNC Park for the @pittsburghpirates Pride Night. (My first performance in a stadium ever🥲🏟️)
•
This moment still leaves me speechless. To have been able to represent not only represent the queer community but more importantly the Pittsburgh Drag scene like this, is one of the greatest honors of my life. Pittsburgh drag has taught me more about myself and my heart than anything in this world and it was a blessing to share this moment with my drag sisters, brothers, and family all over the Pittsburgh area🖤
•
A big thank you to everyone at the pirates, specifically @halt.celine & @therealmisspittsburgh for helping make this one of the greatest working experiences for me, on and off the field. To @anemiablunt , @avagracestudios , @missgeorgiabea for helping assist, photograph, and dress me for this lovely evening. To @briandaviddesigns for dressing me in this lovely gown, created by him. ❤️
•
And finally to all of you. I’ve been working hard for a very long time, but I wouldn’t be anywhere near where im at now without all of the support I’ve gotten from all of you. I can’t wait to show you what else is in store for me very soon.

In celebration of recieving my scores from @continentalpageantry ‘s Miss Continental 2026, seeing I won Interview and Q&A, I wanted to share a BTS experience of how we switched my dress in 5 seconds in between the Opening Sequence and Presentation.

This all wouldn’t be possible without the help of my incredible designer and dresser @briandaviddesigns . Everytime I have an idea in my head of something I want to do, you find a way to help bring it to fruition and this is one of my favorite moments from Continental weekend.

With love,

I am so grateful🥺❤️.

This weekend I represented Miss Metropolitan Continental and competed at @continentalpageantry Miss Continental 2027 pageant where I placed as 2nd Alternate (3rd place) & won Interview ❤️.

I feel so fortunate that I got to share myself on that stage and show my growth from last years Miss Continental.

There is always room for improvement and my focus this year was to do my best and show the evolution of where my life started, my hopes and dreams, and where they’ve led me today… Continental.

It was an honor to be up there with such incredible ladies, a huge congratulations to @pattayahart our newly crowned Miss Continental 2027, I had such a lovely time getting to be next to each other getting ready and was so proud to see your poise and grace as you turned this out. As well to @thelanaluxx , @miss_shalae , & @queenofthebus throughout the competition you all have inspired me so much, connecting with you girls is a highlight of this weekend for me I’ll always be thankful for❤️.

Thank you to @thecocovancartier for being such an incredible dresser, makeup & hair, eyes & ears, and overall light for me throughout this weekend. Your work speaks for itself and I’ve learned so much from you already and I can’t wait to learn more.

Thank you to @jimdemundo , my incredible promoter for sponsoring this journey for me and following along with my plans as I changed them a few times until I found what was right for me in the end 😂😂❤️. Your kindness and support towards me made me feel so special and is something I’ll always cherish. #demumdodoll.

Thank you @briandaviddesigns for designing my incredible swimwear’s, talent gown, prelim evening gown… and so much more (including my corsetry, Brian knows how to get the shape right honey). You have changed my life by helping me to elevate myself constantly as I overthink and (attempt) to overprepare for every possible fashion outcome that can come my way . I’ve learned alot over these past two times around and felt stunning under that light 🥺.

Thank you to my entire family (especially my mom, I love u), @franchescadamore , @dr.deedeeweitzer , @presleyfroomkin by @itsjoeyyoung

I’m so honored to share I’ve been awarded as one of @alliespgh “Bright Young People” of the Class of 2026!

Each year Allies, awards multiple young people from the Pittsburgh area who exemplify what it means to be outstanding members of the Queer community, through their works of outreach and advocacy.

As someone who was fortunate enough to perform for previous Bright Young People celebration events over the years, I’m so excited to be recognized for my respective work within both the local Pittsburgh Drag scene and my most recents efforts through my reign as Miss Continental Newcomer this past year in @continentalpageantry .

If you are in the Pittsburgh area this evening, we will be doing a “Bright Young People : Dance Party Mixer” to celebrate all inductees starting at 8pm at Velum Fermentation!

Thank you again for this incredible honor.

With love,
Joey Young

I got to do a little @continentalpageantry Q&A prep with @katya_zamo yesterday in Pittsburgh and found out she already won “Miss Continental Breakfast,” my apologies Miss Zamolodchikova for forgetting.

Thank you as well to @alorachateaux & @flipphoneevents for having us tonight. It was an honor ❤️

But seriously Katya, we all had the best time with you yesterday. Thank you for being so fun and listening to me ramble about my love for Continental.

And just like that… I have taken my final bow as your Miss @continentalpageantry Newcomer 2025 👑🫶🏼.

As I sit here and try to put the most transformative year of my life into words, I can’t help but get choked up. When I competed for Miss Newcomer, it was the blessing I needed. This system has meant the absolute world to me since I first heard of @theerikanorell_ performances in her ballgowns in South Florida from my drag mama @franchescadamore around the time she won Miss Continental in 2003. It was my first introduction to the system and furthered my exploration into what would one day become home for me.

For years of my life I thought it wouldn’t be possible for “someone like me” to make it to Continental… but guess what, I did. And it was because of the newly formed newcomer division. In which I did absolutely everything I could to make the most, of the most incredible opportunity I’ve ever been given.

This weekend was a testament to the hard work and belief I’ve had not only in myself, but in my generation. This most recent Newcomer pageant opened my eyes to what effect I’ve had on them. And for that, I say thank you for the opportunity and space given to me to be the example to people who have had the same doubts in their lives that I’ve had in mine.

I’m so proud of our incredible 13 Miss Newcomer contestants, you all have shown not only me but the entire system what talent, intelligence, and humility many from our generation has. I cry as I type this, but you are the single thing I’m the most proud of in this reign. To know I made even the slightest impact on you is more than I could have ever asked for and I will always be in your corners as you begin this next chapter of your journeys.

To my Continental family, thank you for letting me do the things I’m sure many thought I shouldn’t have. Giving me guidance, support, critique when needed, and my flowers. I’ve got to make mistakes, learn from them, and show you who I am at my core. You all mean more to me than I’ll ever be able to say, so I’ll just repeat how much I love you everytime I see you like I always do.

@jimflint469 thank you for giving this to me. I don’t know where I’d be without it by @itsjoeyyoung
