How It Started vs How It’s Going.. I drove that top car for 12 years from 16 to 28 years old People made fun of my car, laughed at it, & told me to get something newer And believe me, I wanted something different for the longest time Especially when I used to see all my friends get something cool Not going to lie, it started to get a little embarrassing driving a beater for awhile But I decided that I was going to stay patient until I can earn myself something that I truly wanted (I’m the most impatiently patient person I know) So I decided to drive this beater proudly because.. My parents purchased this car brand new in 1995 A Toyota Camry XLE V6. It was our baby, our weekend car, & one of their biggest achievements I remember we’d only take it out on the weekends to South Coast Plaza or whenever we went somewhere nice I realized how much sentimental value this car had & how much it meant to them And so I learned to be grateful for this hand me down & the car eventually grew on me over time so I stopped caring about what other people thought. Now the car at the bottom is a result of me wanting something & then going to make it happen. It was the reward from my patience & persistence. I remember my friend showing me pictures of this car on the internet for the first time when I was in high school back in 08’ - 09’ It instantly became one of my “dream” cars. I never thought it would come full circle & I would have the opportunity to actually own it As happy as I am with this new car, it is nothing more than a representation of my journey so far & what I’ve gone through A lot of dark, lonely times, failures, uncertainty, late nights, hard work, persistence, & patience. This car serves as a constant reminder that it is okay when things aren’t looking too bright Just continue to move forward 1% because the sun will set & still rise every single day. Proud to say that I got my dream Lambo!! I used to stay up late nights.. Watching POV lambo videos To imagine what it would feel like driving one. I could feel the goosebumps, The excitement. The vibrations of the engine. I’ve dreamt about it. I’ve prayed for it. I’ve manifested it. Well here we are.. 10 years later. I got the DAMN THING! The best part is I could’ve gotten this a long time ago But it didn’t feel right unless I.. Made sure my parents were retired. Money was vested. Family is good. & that this was simply the cherry on top. Achievements may take 1 year, 5 years, or 10 years. However long it takes, I’ll show up every day & figure it out.
