got invited and traveled to my first vmas and hopefully not my last 🥹

i just love music, being a fan, and meeting other fans!!

hearing artists i already love, finding new people to listen to, fangirling with strangers and getting to experience all of it in person. the vmas have always been so iconic, so actually getting to be in the room and experience it for myself??? ugh loved it 😭

being laid off when you have a master’s degree & so much experience and determination is heartbreaking.

i often find myself questioning what am i even doing? what was the point of going to college? what was the point of pursuing my master’s degree if i can’t even use it? like genuinely, what was the point?

yesterday, i attended a networking event hosted by @werktheroom_hq, and as i continue to put myself out there and practice networking, i’m realizing that not every networking event is going to lead to a job opportunity. sometimes it’s just about being in a room where you can listen, learn, feel inspired, and leave feeling a little more encouraged than when you walked in.

and honestly, that’s exactly what i needed.

i’m so thankful for all the speakers who shared their experiences and reminded me that everyone’s journey looks different.

i wanted to share some of what i learned because i know i’m not the only person navigating this right now.

this page is going to continue to be a space where i’m raw and transparent about what i’m going through. the good, the bad, the frustrating, and everything in between.

because as much as social media makes it seem like everyone has everything figured out, some of us are genuinely just trying to figure out our next step.

and if you’re in the same position as me, i hope you know you’re not alone. 🤍

bay area if you’re still looking for halloween plans, i got you! 🎃

🎟️ link in my bio for tickets!

here are 3 halloween events that i’ve either personally attended or that close friends of mine have been to and recommend!

i’m intentional about the events i share, so these recommendations are based on actual experiences, not just random flyers!

if you’re a young professional looking to dress up, meet people, and enjoy a more GROWN crowd this halloweekend, these might be for you! 🧡

sometimes you have to put yourself in rooms you wouldn’t normally walk into!!!

as someone currently looking for my next full-time role in the industry, i’ve been intentional about getting out, meeting new people, and building connections!

when Art Tech Playground reached out about helping spread the word about their event, i thought it would be a great opportunity to experience something new! so i bought a few tickets and headed to san francisco :)

it was such an informative experience with welcoming attendees and a reminder that you never know what connections you might make just by showing up!

my first sf tech week and my first event was filled with so much joy 🤎

as a girlie who was recently laid off and is navigating this job market while trying to network, grow, and make a name for herself, being in community like this was exactly what i needed🥹

bay area, if you’re always looking for new food spots to try, ask maps might be your new best friend! 📍🤎

shoutout to google maps for inviting me on a foodie field trip around sf! we used ask maps to find restaurants, bookstores, and shops just by describing what we were looking for, and it made exploring so much easier🤭

we also checked out a few spots from their fan favorites dining list (which i cant wait to try out every spot!!)

and ask maps isn’t just exclusively for the bay area! whether you’re exploring your hometown or traveling somewhere new, this is definitely worth trying! 🫶🏽
