Excited to share some good news. Things have changed a lot in the past year but I'm hoping to keep pushing the creative side of my life. This grant will help by giving me space to breathe. Gonna test some new things this year and try to grow my efforts to truly be an independent artist.

Shout out to @creativephl, @CouncilmemberKGR, and @CMThomasPHL for this opportunity to grow.

People who know me long enough know I do a lot of reflecting this time of the year. 2025 has been a series of intense highs and intense lows.

I hope this year is a little more tamed and less emotional whiplash. The beginning of last year started with an adventure and wedding followed by a funeral and a financial crisis (both nationally and personally).

I don't think I can cover everything that happened in 2025. I did my best to share the highlights in this reel:
I've traveled a bit, I grew as a photographer and artist, i got to showcase works in galleries and exhibits, I participated in photoshows and fairs, I've worked on a few amazing projects, shot a documentary, an engagement, a mural dedication, historical concerts and more... and I've met some amazing people and made great friends along the way.

I doubt I'll slow down, but i might try to focus more. I started working a regular job again so the financial urgency of freelancing will lessen and hopefully I can create more for me.

Things are complicated in today's world, and though many projects and goals had to be shifted around, I'm hoping to keep creating and trying to share more with people who don't always get to see what I've worked on.

I'm looking forward to 2026 and all that it brings and I hope to see some friends (old and new) along the way. by @itskendama

I'm showing some pieces next week on Friday, Dec 13th at the @acommunity_artgallery in the @philadelphiamarriottdowntown

Opening starts at 5:30 and goes to 7:30 but the gallery should be up for a few months! Link in the bio!

Another announcement! I was recently awarded a grant by the city. It's incredibly validating as a self-taught creative professional to be recognized by the place I call home. Really excited to see what other creatives in the city will do with their grants as well!

I'm already using the grant to help fund some pieces for an upcoming gallery show at @acommunity_artgallery on the 13th!

Yay, Another milestone. This is sort of a self reflection post, since it's been a while, and I'm terrible with social media in general.

I'm one year older today. Crazy to think where I've been and where I'm going. I'm a little over (or under) halfway to the recommended retirement age (depending on which arbitrary metric you want to follow), but I feel like I'm still just getting started ...or maybe things are just clicking into place better now.

I've changed careers a few times since my 20s. I spent about a decade in the sciences, doing wild science experiments and unraveling the world, and now I'm trying out a more creative career, to share my vision of the world. I am literally in a photo exhibition show next week that I'm proud to be part of. #shamelessplug (Be sure to check my highlights if you're interested.)

I've had a few adventures around the world. I've experienced the world in some amazing ways. Last year, for my birthday, I was in Milan, creating and presenting work for a biodesign project. This year, I'm focusing on growing my craft and business. It's absolutely crazy to think about how big the world is, yet at the same time, I have just a few places I'd truly called home.

In these years, I have met some wonderful people. Some who I've known since high school (y'all know who you are), some who I've connected over the internet, and some who I've just met last week. They all have taught me about lives I never would've lived and shared with me experiences that I can only dream about, both positive and negative. And yes, I've had a few heartbreaks. I've said goodbye to people who meant (and maybe still do) the world to me, but I don't regret those experiences either. I trust that I did the best I could for them with the time we had.

Everything has led up to my experience right here, right now, today. Who knows what tomorrow will bring and where the journey will take me in the next three decades. I'm looking forward to sharing more and maybe being a little better with showcasing some of my own stories. We all know how backlogged I am with projects.. 🥲
