A few years ago, if you had told me I’d be helping grow an HVAC company, I probably wouldn’t have believed you.

My background has always been in marketing, sales, and helping businesses grow. I even wrote a book called Boost Your Sales.

Today, I’m helping grow AirDirect, a family business that’s been serving our community for years.

What surprised me most isn’t HVAC itself.

It’s everything that comes with building a business.

The leadership.
The communication.
The responsibility.
The mistakes.
The growth.

I’ve learned that success isn’t just about strategy. It’s about showing up consistently, owning your mistakes, and continuing to learn along the way.

The funny thing is, nobody warned me that business ownership would be so mental.

Not the long hours.

Not the responsibility.

The fact that it’s always there.

In the back of your mind during dinner.

On vacation.

Before you fall asleep.

One thing I never expected about building a business…

Growth isn’t just more customers.

It’s learning your limits.
Making tough decisions.
Missing opportunities.
And still choosing to show up the next day.

This week reminded me of that.

We’re not perfect, but we’re committed to getting better every single week.

If you ask me, experiences will always beat things.

This birthday looked like train rides, New York pizza, shopping, lots of walking, and celebrating 15 in one of the coolest cities.

I don’t know how she’s already 15, but I’m so thankful we got to make these memories together.

This weekend was a good reminder that there’s more to life than checking things off a to-do list.

Between running a business, answering calls, following up with customers, keeping up with the kids, and everything else in between, it’s easy to feel like there’s always one more thing to do.

But this weekend looked like soccer, sunshine, family time, lots of walking, and making memories with some of my favorite people.

The to-do list can wait.

For now, I’m just grateful for weekends like this. 🤍
