Thank you to everyone who came to our WYKD birthday picnic ❤️
We had the BEST day - last of the gang were in the park til we got kicked out 😆
We ate a lot, danced plenty, tarot action, played-got competitive with badminton and everyone left with a gift - thank @lovesupremeprojects for donating the a bulk of those … they went down a treat❣️
Next one hopefully in September - we had so much fun we had to try sneak in another one x by @itskeriperkins

This is the sound of a room full of strangers becoming - for a brief moment - connected as one.

Session 02 of @the_future_is_social explored collective effervescence 🫧

@itskeriperkins , founder of @healingsoundsystem led us through an amazing group hum, designed to stimulate the restorative power of collective effervescence, which Emile Durkheim wrote about in 1912. The electric charge which runs through a group when everyone feels the same thing, at the same time. 🪢

Over a hundred years later, we now know why it’s so powerful, and so important to seek out. A hum is always there for you, but so too is the dance floor, karaoke, laughing with your pals, or sitting with nature. All have a similar bonding effect. 👯‍♀️

Thank you Keri Perkins, @katherinetemplarlewis and @amyejrollings for all your wisdom and incredible insights. 💗

Thank you @lerixi @clubmera, @caskforit and @rainwellbeing 💃🏽

Social health is the third pillar of a healthy life, and rooms like this remind us how important we are to each other. 🤝

After all, the magic is in the gathering.🫶

Join us for the next Future : Social September 21st at @shoreditchartsclub_ 🎉 by @itskeriperkins

@the_future_is_social 🟠🔴

Session 02. Monday 13 July

Sometimes there’s a special feeling that takes over a room, when a group of people who weren’t together all of a sudden are.

The dinner that runs into dawn. The dance floor nobody wants to leave. A fitness class that feels euphoric.

Émile Durkheim called it collective effervescence, which feels suitable modern, yet science has been studying it for over a century. And the hospitality industry has been churning it for far longer than that. Mostly the two haven’t been in the same conversation.

Session 02 is all about that feeling. What is it?
What does it feel like in the body. Why it’s so hard to replicate. And why is it so good for us?

Joining me: @katherinetemplarlewis of @kinda.studios on the neuroscience of gathering, @itskeriperkins on sound, movement and the nervous system. @amyejrollings of @clubmera, on the brands now being built around a new way of socialising 🥰

@shoreditchartsclub_ , 6-8pm.

Sound can create the space for people to process their own emotions. But it takes courage. It’s not easy.

And for those carrying something deeply traumatic @tallulahrendall whose facilitated sound meditation for decades recognises that sound work often requires working alongside other therapies.

What she finds most powerful is Metta meditation know as loving kindness practice. Creating a feeling of love and safety that allows people to open up, feel held and to process from that place.

Sound Healing. Unfiltered. by @itskeriperkins

Tallulah Rendall is a sound facilitator, Qigong practitioner, and vocal artist 🎤

I’ve been wanting to ask her a question I’ve been sitting with for a long time.

Can Sound Really Heal?

With the rise of the “sound bath” and more and more practitioners entering the space, the question feels more relevant than ever.

I came to sound through Nada yoga. A fundamental part of the Jivamukti yoga method I teach. Sound as a technology - beyond entertainment 🧘🏿

And with so many people now discovering sound, there is a growing chorus of sound healers making bold claims.

As suspected, it’s not a simple answer.

One thing I gleaned, it’s as much about the participant as it is the facilitator. And finding a sound facilitator with the right intention and the right training matters than you might think.

We get into that next.

Sound Healing. Unfiltered.

@tallulahrendall has an upcoming retreat in Devon. And her seventh album. Only Human deeply personal experiences, raw and honest. Tour starts in Oct. #soundmeditation #soundhealing #soundtherapy #jivamuktiyoga by @itskeriperkins

I was once told never to use music with English lyrics during savasana (corpse posture)🪷

Savasana is that final resting posture at the end of practice. The body lets go, absorbs, integrates. Some people call it the hardest asana of all. The aim is to guide students into that hypnogogic space between waking and sleeping✨

The reasoning made sense. Sanskrit mantra is often said to work through vibration rather than meaning. But when we hear words in our own language, the mind can latch onto them and start analysing instead of resting.

I understood the idea, but didn’t exactly agree.

My Jivamukti yoga training will always be the foundation of my teaching. But over time, you learn to trust your own experience. You learn what resonates, what works and what feels true in the room.

Some songs don’t pull you out of the moment. They carry you further into it and allow you to experience more deeply.

Is This Love by Bob Marley. Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. Sometimes the words themselves become part of the medicine. You don’t think about them intellectually. You simply receive them.

Nina Simone’s Feeling Good is one of those songs. It’s become our @healingsoundsystem x @himalayansoullive signature in savasana. In that deeply relaxed state, “it’s a new dawn, it’s a new day” lands as much as a deep resonance as is does as a lyric 🎶

This year, Himalayan Soul remixed it into something extraordinary @vervefestival A live DJ, singing bowls, a room full of people breathing together and letting go🧘🏾‍♀️🧘🏿

Year two for us @vervefestival and this year a peacock joined in chorus right on cue 🦚 by @itskeriperkins

Breathe in. Let go. 🌿
The Breathe & Reset Sound Journey is with Keri Perkins (Healing Sound System) and Luca Perrone (Silver Spirit) — crystal bowls, gong, handpan, drums and vocals.🪩
Your nervous system is working hard. This is its night off.
Sound does something to the body that is hard to explain until you’ve felt it. It slows you down from the inside. Clears the noise. Shifts something. People walk out lighter, clearer, more like themselves and often surprised by how deeply they let go. 🪷

Freedom. Exploration. Balance.
Travel is my self care 🌴
When I’m away my ritual is to always find time to take a run 🏃🏾‍♀️explore my surroundings and connect with nature. To be mindful and just breathe 🌼
Yoga, like travel, brings me back to myself 🧘🏾‍♀️
Now I teach yoga and do sound meditations in the places I travel to and turned the travel side into an income 💰

I’m not a big sales person but it’s pretty straightforward how I do it.

✈️ Book travel for others - help people plan trips and earn from it

🤝 Sharing (affiliate marketing) - earn from recommending it to others

And the extra bit is I get amazing travel deals .. for real 🌍

Why wouldn’t you do this too👇
Drop me a line and I’ll tell you how this could work for you and pay!!!!
