To my Alma Mater: Ole Mother Dear, you have taught me so many lessons and you have evolved me into the courageous young woman I am today. My four years here at Alabama State have done nothing short of growing me, molding me, challenging me, watering me, and further helping me understand my purpose in this world. Coming in as a Freshman in 2020 was an incredible adjustment, and I truly didn’t know what to expect. There were times I felt afraid, uncertain, and I felt as if I couldn’t do it. However, at Alabama State I was able to find a forever home, I was given rich knowledge I will never forget, and most importantly I found a place where I was accepted. As I bittersweetly prepare to step onto a new path, I will take home a Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice: two tokens that will help me remember where I have come from. To my Alma Mater, thank you. Thank you for every single piece of myself you have helped me to discover. Thank you for the lasting wisdom.
