This wasn’t really about birthday gifts…

It was about feeling seen.

Candace shared how she asked for cash for her birthday because she wanted support in the season she was in as an entrepreneur. Instead, people bought her gifts.

It made her ask a question I think so many of us have quietly wondered:

“How much of me is actually being seen and heard in this new season?”

As we grow, our needs change. Sometimes the people who love us the most don’t realize we’ve changed too.

Ladies……Can I be honest with y’all for a second? 🤎

I did the thing everybody tells you to chase. The husband. The kids. The house. The life I prayed for on my knees. And I’m grateful — down to my bones grateful.

But nobody warns you that once you finally arrive… a little voice asks, “okay, now what?”

So at this big age, I went back to school. I’m learning again. Building again. Chasing something new — not because my life was empty, but because I’ve still got so much left in me.
I’m not slowing down in my 40s. I’m just getting started.

Real talk? 10 pounds down. 🙌🏾🤎

Y’all remember being in your 20s? You could walk one block around the corner and drop 10, 15 pounds like it was nothing. 😂 Now? In my 40s, after birthing FIVE kids and going through perimenopause? Baby, that same block don’t even move the scale.

So I had to make a real decision — go all in on myself. Not for nobody else. For me.

This ain’t just 10 pounds. This is 10 pounds on a body that carried five babies. A body going through changes nobody prepared me for. A body that’s still showing up anyway.

And with my birthday coming up? This one’s extra special. 🎂🤎

To my girls in this same season — it’s not as easy as it used to be, but it’s still possible. Keep going.

First day back. 🍎 New grade, new shoes, same prayer over them every morning.

For some reason this school year felt like a big deal — especially for my daughter heading into 5th grade. 🥹 Everything had to be detailed, everything had to be just right, and watching how deeply she cared made me so excited for her.

And the twins? Whole new venture for them. The biggest thing on their list was making sure they got a SprayGround book bag 😅 (hubby wasn’t with it lol) — but listen, anything to see these smiles. Priceless.
