Another film back from @comethroughlab !

Greece snaps 🇬🇷 so pleased. My first two films with this camera and best photos I've ever taken.

I love taking photos like this and seeing the results at a later date. Trying to practice being calmer and in the moment.

Wonderful times with @roxyobscura my mum, my grandma, auntie and Grandma's Paxos friends.

Part 2 of 🇬🇷

We drove to see the old windmill. The Loggos Mill was the last windmill to cease operations, marking the end of an era for Paxos’ milling industry.

We went to the wrong one , but here it is, from the wrong place.

Me and Rox hired a bike. I used to own one when I lived in Manchester, but never rode with a second person on the back.

Loved it though and Rox gained confidence in me whizzing around the windy shit roads on the island (I was very safe actually)

It was fantastic to get to see all the sights I remember from being a kid with my mum dad and sister. 🥹 And now with my love.

We hired a boat and I was the fucking captain.

End of the road.

Saw some mega bands, discovered lots of mega bands, thought Pulp were........ok.......for a super fan that would have been the best night of your life but 🤷🏼

Danced, moshed, sang, slept, stretched (my poor hamstrings) drank tea and 0%, wished I could drop some drugs, missed late night secret DJ sets cos I was tired, woke early to see pretty skies, saw three boss sunsets, was surprised by Ty Segall and Super Furry Animals sets, adored the pulsing strobes during Model/Actriz, ate 500 apples and oranges, watched hilarious comedy acts, read my kindle during White Denim (boring) and drove a big campervan through winding roads.

Beautiful time in Wales to celebrate Soph and Ry. The most gorgeous friends you could wish for.

Roxy looked incredible, everyone looked amazing. The venue was perfect.

On Tuesday, somehow, it was 6 years since my dad died.

I drove to Anglesey to join my mum at the beach. I took a picnic and we lay in the sun, went in the sea, talked about my dad, talked about current life, talked about how desperately we missed him.

Mum napped, I read and then we watched the sun go down. We missed Emily (Australia is a long way away) but we made a little video for her and we watched the Perth sunset earlier that day on video chat!!

Grief doesn't get any easier. I've found it getting harder at times. The moments I miss him are more intense these days.

It's very strange to think I won't ever speak to him again. After years and years and years of at least daily texts. What a fucking man he was, what a perfect fucking dad.

☀️ On Tuesday I packed up the car and drove to Wales to stay at the @ffermdwyran place!

It was beautiful, peaceful and just what I needed. To rest and to regulate after a very difficult few weeks.

@madebysnew lives close by so she came to hang out, we had a very needed catch up, drank wine, played music and kicked the ball about with Bronze. Then Emma gave us a fantastic tour of the farm and all the amazing progress that they have made. So excited for this to keep developing.

We are slowly beginning to discuss the possibilities of running some creative exchange residencies when the farm and our space on Bedford Road are all up and running. This is a few years away but it's very cool to think about city based and rural residencies and how we can support marginalised artists to experience both these opportunities as part of an exchange programme.

We also had two afternoons on the beach with our perfect best mates Olive and Bruno. Splashing in the sea, playing football, blowing bubbles and digging holes. Always the best company!!

Thank you @roxyobscura for having lots of great ideas to push the organisation forward, and being by my side.

Thank you @emmafatout and @teegs_hawkwind for your hospitality, that gorgeous homemade soup. And your three beautiful friendly pups!! 🐾

The last few days have been really difficult, my wonderful auntie is at end of life care, rushed to hospital on Saturday morning and it's been hard. Traumatic at times and triggering memories of my dad dying.

I'm doing the best I can to be strong for her and for my mum, but also allowing myself to crumble when I need to.

Thinking of the reasons the the last exhibition exploring grief and how many people opened up about an emotion we all share. Yet so many of us hide. Pretend it's ok.

It's.not, it's scary and sad and confusing. We are doing all we can to make Debbie's last days or weeks as comfortable and full of love as we can.

I love you Debbie Teague 🧡

A night at home tonight, a hot bath, a nice homemade dinner and the football on. Hoping for a big sleep tonight!

These photos show a bit more of me, something that's not too regular!!! Thanks to Pete for making me feel comfortable posing!

Last thing, stay safe in the heat. Alot of people who see this will be on SSRI meds. I am on sertraline and I struggle in the heat. Excessive sweat, and bad dehydration....

Keep as cool as you can and ask for help if you need it 🧡

🌞 Bedford Road School in Bootle, was built in 1885 during the late Victorian era to serve the growing educational needs of the local working-class community.

Originally a primary school, it later became an all-girls school and played an important role in the education and development of young women in the area. Many former pupils progressed into careers including nursing, teaching and skilled trades, reflecting the school’s significance within the community.

During WWII, Bootle was heavily bombed due to Liverpool’s strategic docklands. Bedford Road School
suffered significant damage during the Blitz, and the school clock is remembered locally as having stopped at 11.34pm when the building was hit. For many, this moment has become a powerful symbol of the impact of the war on the community.

In 1992, the school relocated to Quarry Road, and in 1993 the building became Bedford Road Community Centre, serving local residents until its closure in 2015. Although it has been vacant for over a decade, the building remains a significant local landmark, representing generations of education, resilience and community life in Bootle.

📷 The first professional photographs taken in our new space. Hopefully this gives you an idea of the scope of the project! We are excited to work alongside @assembleofficial to design and develop this into a radical, ambitious creative space!
