When the rooms don’t feel right… we build our own 🔥💋

We started this event because we knew:
 …if we could bring together the women who actually hold this community together—women from every background, at every stage of business, carrying the stories, wisdom, and lived experiences that shape this city—we could do more than just network.
 We could build something real.

Creating spaces like this, where we’re all seen, heard, and represented, isn’t just an event.
 It’s a movement.

One that’s been on our hearts as women of color raised in Portland—raising biracial families, building businesses, and navigating spaces not built with us in mind.

These rooms deserve more exposure. More intention. More leadership from women who live it.

And we’re committed to leading that charge.

To every guest, vendor, and wildly talented woman in that room—thank you. 
We couldn’t do this without you.

Spent the week with 200+ business owners. … pitching & selling... and it made me think about when I was 21 and a bottle service girl at the club 😅

When I tell you, I wanted to crawl out of my skin when somebody told me 'no' after I asked if they wanted another drink..

I took it so personally 😂… the rejection and being told no in public, made me wanna vomit.

But as a business owner, it's THE JOB.
When you run a business, you are the sales person 24/7…. You have to stop thinking of it as personal, and you have to stop thinking of it as rejection… otherwise the business never has a chance.

C+ Students club.
Back I college, I had no idea what I wanted to do... Plus, I was a C+ student at best.

But one day, in my 'business Entrepreneurship" class, we had a gust speaker, the founder of Voodoo Donuts.
He was incredible... Everything he was saying just made sense to me.... Business made sense to me.

And then we had another guest speaker, a bad-ass business woman who walked in the class room in stilettos.
She was everything I wanted to be.
I was done for.

That was when I knew I wanted to be a business owner.

Full-circle moment, I got to jump into my friend @alexgrandlikethecanyon class and be that guest business-owner to a room full of business students!
The 19 year-old inside of me happy-cried a little...

My 7-year changed my entire business strategy...

Kids have this thing where they haven't learned to be afraid of the truth yet.
And sometimes that's the exact thing you need to hear.

He's been teaching me how to be a stronger, more thoughtful, kinder person to myself and my business since he could talk. by @itslythuy

Women, Money, and Power summit.
These women are talking about multimillion dollar exits, raising seed-funding of over half a billion dollars, understanding franchise models with hundreds of international of locations, building citywide initiatives.

And I don't speak this language...
I don't know a lot of the words they're using...
But I'm learning and I'm listening..

I keep showing up to rooms like this because I know these conversations change how your brain thinks. Being exposed over and over again changes how you move.

2026 goal... learn the language of people 10-steps ahead of me. by @itslythuy
