A few months ago I spent 2.5 hours at a Jimmy John’s in Bend writing a little reflection long boy that my heart kinda wanted me to put out there. I was inspired by my time at @snowboyproductions Halo-Halo meeting so many rippers who came from so many diverse backgrounds whom shared so many similar stories and perspectives in snowboarding just like mine. I put out this long boy in the comments of a reel I made, posted it, and hit the road back to Colorado.

As i was crossing the desert my phone caught some service and I started to see so many DMs and comments from people who resonated deeply with the long boy. The whole trip back was full of this and it truly filled my cup.

I ended up telling @mysonstan about it and he put that long boy in @slushthemagazine (thanks Stan 🫶🏽)

HALO-HALO!!! What a crazy experience; vibes were immaculate. I absolutely loved meeting everyone from all kinds of different backgrounds, places and perspectives.

I wrote a bit of a long boy (in the comments) on why things like Halo-Halo mean so much to me, but FIRST, let me give a huge thank you to Krush and Smiley for throwing this amazing event and inviting me out here, as well as @itsflippinallie for helping me get to Halo-Halo. You guys are all awesome and I’m super thankful for each of you.

Congratulations Cassandra & David Villegas ❤️🤎

Over the past year, I’ve recorded weeks’ worth of film on my dad’s 8mm cam—from the first Rockstar Open for the TDI archive to Gunna opening for us at XGames. But this was the most meaningful moment I filmed all year.
David was at the comp with me, just picked up the ring the day before, and just before i put the camera away he goes “Yo… can I say something real quick?”

One of those moments you hit the ⏪&▶️

Welp I got really unlucky and broke my 2nd collarbone on a freak accident.

It happened on the last run on this weird rainbow/teardrop feature which I had been hitting all day. I came in from a crosscourt angle that was pretty weird with low speed and got hung up, I wish I could go back and not do that and have a little more respect for that feature, but that’s life 🤷🏽‍♂️

thank you @jackcarusa @bradylem @getgreasy for being there for me right when it happened. That was tough mentally, I appreciate your guys’ immediate support getting me thru that. Also Thank you to ski patrol and @gil_brachocki and my dawg @thatmaxwellkid for making sure I was ok thruout, thank you to my fiance @cmj24 and @carolinaabyrd for dropping everything to come get me.

I’ll be out for the rest of the regular season, which is a huge bummer, but I’m super thankful for this season in particular for all the different kinds of people from all walks of life I got to meet and ride with. Old and new friends. All the different perspectives I encountered, fun riding, progression, support and opportunities, writing my first slush article and just all around great times—I’ll cherish that.

Have fun out there for me 🫡
