And that’s been another episode of @tonightsconversation. I really enjoyed this spring tour with my job. I got to travel, link up with my people in different cities, sharpen my leadership skills, and learn logistics, operations, and production at a high level that I can now apply to @theblackgayagenda. But more than anything, I got to see firsthand just how much joy this podcast brings to people. That’s something I’ll never take for granted. I’m going to enjoy this little break while we head up for fall tour. The grind continues. And who knows. Nine years ago, I moved back to Chicago to build my clothing line. I had no idea that one decision would change the trajectory of my life. Chicago gave me community, friendship, family, and the space to build something bigger than me. I’m grateful for every experience, every failure, and every lesson. Chicago will always be home and forever be part of my story. This isn’t goodbye, just see you later. Atlanta, it’s time for a new beginning. by @itsmicahb

I moved back to Chicago in November of 2017. I wanted to move back to be closer to family but also pour into my clothing line and just really focus on that. Kings Arise Clothing birthed an IG Live series during the pandemic called, Conversations For The Culture which became a podcast which eventually birthed The Black Gay Agenda. None of this would’ve ever happened had I stayed in my comfort zone. I could’ve easily stayed in Kentucky and embraced my post military government job, but I felt like there was more. This time next week, I will be in Atlanta sleeping in my bed for the first time in a brand new city. I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t have a range of emotions right now. I’m excited but I’m also uncertain. I’m sad. I’m extremely emotional. But I have to remind myself that I’ve been in this place before. I have to remind myself that God had me before. I have a lot more thoughts that I’ll be sharing with you as we get closer to next week, but I just want to remind you of something. God shows us who we really are in those times where we’re uncertain what’s next. I grew up here but my second time being back I actually grew up. I’ve grown into who I really am. I grew into loving the totality of myself. That’s probably my biggest takeaway from the past almost 9 years. I’ve met so many people who have truly enriched and enhanced my life and I will never regret choosing to pack all my stuff up and starting over. So I’m trusting this process. It’s tough. It’s scary. But I Kel it’s going to take me to yet another level. I’m excited for this journey and I know my future self will be glad that I did this. 🤎 by @itsmicahb
