We celebrate 32 years of life today 🙌🏾

I spent so much time wondering when things would finally get easier. When the music would hit. When the money would come. When I would feel caught up. When I could finally breathe.

But somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn’t waiting for my life to begin.

I was living it.

Every setback. Every empty room. Every song nobody heard. Every night I questioned whether I was wasting my time. Every morning I got up anyway.

My son will one day understand that his father wasn’t perfect.

But I hope he understands that I never stopped trying.

I hope he hears my music and hears more than songs. I hope he sees a man who kept creating even when life gave him every reason to stop. A man who turned pain into something beautiful. A man who learned that being strong doesn’t mean you don’t break.

It means you keep putting yourself back together.

I don’t know what happens in this next chapter.

For the first time, I don’t need to.

32 Years and Running! Thank God 🙌🏾

The Room Was Filled With Bright Lights 🙌🏾

A bright light is you. A bright light is me. A bright light is your life stage. Bright lights, don’t let the bright lights blind you.

Chin up gripping tighter as the grip seems to be getting slipperier,
Hard to tell if I should hold on or let go,
In this season of transition,
It’s like I know but I don’t know,
I guess its going how it’s suppose to go,
So I attempt to stay present when I can’t show,
Showing true character,
While suppressing many feelings I can’t show,
So I just pray,
Hope 🙏🏾
And hold on….

Ya know?

So I’m currently holding back the tears as I sit in this airport waiting on my flight. I use to fear this becoming a reality of mine, while also preparing myself. This is not something that you can prep for tho. Especially when it happens randomly without your control. I initially started to make a video but I ain’t bout to be on this innanet crying. I had to make this post to encourage Father’s out there that have not done the proper protocol when it comes to legitimization and securing rights for your child to GO DO THAT! That’s the best advice a father needs to know. Don’t put it off like I did thinking the mother won’t randomly take off. Unfortunately if you wasn’t married to that woman before birth given ya seed is a child that is considered to be born out of wedlock (well at least in the State of Georgia). *AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS*, even if you signed the birth certificate.

This shit hurts more than I show but my chin is up gangsta. There’s nothing in this world that will ever stop or interfere with me showing up for my son… Even when it’s visiting somewhere I never agreed for him to go. I say that for the fathers that gave up… Find ya fight dawg. Don’t let the wickedness defeat you. You can’t give up. Keep calling and showing up even if that phone call is only 30 secs of distraction and no conversation. It all counts…
