What if the bigger piece is actually what makes the room feel 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴?⁣ ⁣ It’s easy to assume a larger sofa will dwarf a room, but sometimes the very opposite is true. The right scale can make everything around it feel more intentional - and the Alexander sofa from @interiordefine does just that.⁣ ⁣ We love how its light upholstery keeps the room feeling open, while its traditional shape and design adds warmth and substance.⁣ And ohhhh how we love the walnut legs with brass casters! Interior Define is having a site wide 25% off sale now through October 20th. ⁣ And perhaps our favorite part? It feels right at home among the pieces we’ve been collecting and adding over time. Because a home with character isn’t created all at once - it’s layered, lived in and collected along the way.⁣ ⁣ It feels like it’s belonged here all along. 🤎⁣ ⁣ Follow us, Carol & Marilyn of⁣ @ItsMoreThanAHome if you love being inspired, turning a house into a home, budget decor, delicious recipes and stories with heart. We’re so happy you’re here!⁣ ⁣ #InteriorDefinePartner #CollectedHome #TraditionalDecor #TimelessHome #InteriorInspiration taken in Maryland by @itsmorethanahome

𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮? ⁣ ⁣ Not that long ago, our bathroom was feeling a little…boring. So, we did what all creative people do, we put on our thinking caps and then gave our 90’s mirrored medicine cabinet a little disguise. 😉⁣ ⁣ We framed artwork and Velcro’d it right over the mirror - turning an everyday necessity into something that looks like it was always meant to be part of the gallery wall.⁣ ⁣ Now the bathroom feels less like a forgotten, functional space and more like a true reflection of the rest of our home with a little extra character! ⁣ ⁣ Swipe to see the before! ➡️⁣ ⁣ Because sometimes the best decorating ideas are simply about looking at the ordinary a little differently. ⁣ ⁣ Follow us, Carol & Marilyn of⁣ @ItsMoreThanAHome if you love being inspired, turning a house into a home, budget decor, delicious recipes and stories with heart. I think we may have scored the Marketplace deal of a lifetime! Here’s the story…⁣ ⁣ We’ve been on the hunt for a new coffee table for the living room. (We have a new sofa - more to come on that later) We needed something larger, but also not take up too much space. So, we decided on a glass top table with metal legs - it would be the best of both worlds. We found a beautiful one at a local furniture consignment shop and went to pick it up only to see the thick glass was SOOOO badly scratched. Sadly, we walked away from what we *thought* was the perfect table. Back to the drawing board.⁣ ⁣ Off we went to scroll Marketplace (and so did our long distance bestie, Heldy). She sent us links to several that were in MD. We loved one and messaged the seller immediately. We were minutes too slow as she just had someone else secure it. Sigh.⁣ ⁣ But the next morning, she messaged me back and the other buyer fell through, so it was ours if we still wanted it. YES, we want it! And she marked it down to $25! Sold! ⁣ ⁣ We drove to Annapolis (our old stomping grounds) and picked it up from the most exquisite home! They loaded the VERY heavy table into our car and off we went back home with such a beautiful find from the sweetest of sellers. ⁣ ⁣ We cleaned it all up and placed it in our living room. It was beyond 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩! Then I thought, ‘I wonder what the brand of this table could be’ and did a quick search. Friends, you need to make sure and swipe to the very last photo. 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨!!!!⁣ ⁣ All that to say, we are humbled to have this beautiful heirloom piece in our home. 🤎⁣ ⁣ Follow us, Carol & Marilyn of⁣ @ItsMoreThanAHome if you love being inspired, turning a house into a home, budget decor, delicious recipes and stories with heart. The piece I waited for. 🤎 You can search and search for the perfect antique, but sometimes you just have to be patient and let the right piece find its way to you. On a whim, my mom and I went to browse an antique store ‘just for the fun of it’. We walked in and there it was - we finally found the perfect antique secretary to use as my nightstand and when I went to pay for it, the store owner told me the vendor just brought it in that morning. I waited and waited and then it found me! Just like I had imagined, somehow it made the whole room feel warmer, cozier, and more me. That’s the beauty of collecting a home over time. The wait is absolutely worth it. Swipe to the end for the before - you’ll see just how much one piece can change a room. When Autumn settles in gently, every corner feels like a warm embrace. 🍂⁣ ⁣ It was time to bring a touch of Autumn to my mom’s beautiful bedroom and use the same approach we’ve been doing throughout the rest of our home.⁣ ⁣ Create the feeling or essence of the season simply by how we use color, textiles, lighting and things found in nature in place of using (and having to store) a lot of seasonal decor. ⁣ A few stems, a pillow swap and one of our pheasant figurines - and that easily, we were able to achieve a cozy & elegant Autumn mood.⁣ ⁣ Like we’ve said many times before, approaching seasonal decor this way doesn’t take special talent or skill or an excess of money. It just takes seeing things through different eyes, trying something new and going for it!⁣ Enjoy creating! ⁣ Follow us, Carol & Marilyn of⁣ @ItsMoreThanAHome if you love being inspired, turning a house into a home, budget decor, delicious recipes and stories with heart. Something happens each time the calendar page turns to September.⁣.. ⁣ The baker in me resurfaces. And just like we 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘳, we 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯, too.⁣ ⁣ So, I did what all good seasonal bakers do, I ⁣made a delicious 𝙋𝙪𝙢𝙥𝙠𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 like it was my job.⁣ 😉 ⁣ Anyone else ready for ALL the cozy season foods? I know we are, so we will share as many of our faves as we can during the next few months.⁣ ⁣ What are some of your favorite Fall foods?⁣ ⁣ Be sure to save this post and swipe to the third and fourth photos for the recipe! ⁣ ⁣ And for the record, our favorite way to serve this cake is chilled - SO GOOD!⁣ ⁣ Happy September! 🍂⁣ ⁣ #cozyhome #nakedcakes #pumpkinrecipes #pumpkincake #fallbaking⁣ ⁣ Follow us, Carol & Marilyn of⁣ @ItsMoreThanAHome if you love being inspired, turning a house into a home, budget decor, delicious recipes and stories with heart.
