My sweet Gia,
I wish I could have given you more time.
I wish your story had continued for many more birthdays.

My Beautiful Gia
September, 2015 — September, 2026

Gia was not just a dog.
Gia was part of my everything. 🤍

She was the Alpha—the undeniable leader of her whole group. Full of life, energy, and a determination that could not be stopped. If you told Gia to quit, she would probably look at you as if to say, “I don’t think so.”😂🐾

She was stubborn.
She was goofy.
She was curious about absolutely everything.

Gia had to investigate the world with her nose, always sticking it where it didn’t belong, because there was simply too much to discover. 🐶🤍

But beneath that strong personality was an enormous heart.

She was loyal, warm, loving, joyful, and protective. She watched over the people and animals around her and carried herself like she had been appointed guardian of everyone she loved.

That was Gia.

Strong enough to lead.
Silly enough to make me laugh.
Warm enough to make me feel loved.
Loyal enough to always protect her family.

And she was so, so loved.

Gia was born on September 22, 2015.
She should have been getting ready to celebrate her 11th birthday.

Instead, I am learning how to live with the unbearable emptiness left behind by her passing.

It feels too soon.
It feels unfair.
It feels like she still had so much life left to live.

And perhaps that is one of the hardest things about loving someone so deeply; sometimes their time with us doesn’t feel nearly long enough.

But although Gia’s life was not as long as my heart wanted, the love inside those years was enormous.

She lived.
She loved.
She protected.
She played.
She explored.
She made me laugh.
She became family.

And she left paw prints in my heart that will never be the same without her. 🐾🤍
