if you know me, then you know when i get scared, i tend to shut down.
but something changed in me this night.
almost like… it wasn’t me on that stage.
the spirit of Kawa moved through me.

@the.kara.mack @taliseatoy @weediebraimahofficial — thank you for believing i could bring Kawa to life beyond my hesitation.

when the mask didn’t work out during tech rehearsal, i was ready to give up.
i stayed up until 6am working on it the previous night—just for it to literally fall apart the day before the show.

but instead of walking away, i went home, fixed it, tested it again… made sure it would work.
and still, i had to take it off during the performance.

and instead of being hurt by that,
i was pushed harder—
pushed deeper into presence.
pushed into trust.
pushed into the fire of “ready or not, here you are.”

and something greater moved through me.

this was never just a dance. this was my Amen. by @itsnarakay

Kankouran’s 43rd Annual African Dance & Drum Conference and Concert owes us NOTHINGGGG!🔥

We danced, learned, laughed, SWEATED and connected with a beautiful community that reminded us exactly why we love what we do. 💛

Our bodies might need a few business days to recover, but our hearts are FULL.

Until next timeeee!✨🌱
