Juneteenth knocked me off my feet literally. I jaywalk naturally as a city girl. I cleared my left side. The right side was backed up with traffic at the stop sign, so typically, city people go in between cars if it's backed up, so when I was doing that, a bike was coming, from my left, they were going against traffic, and hit me. I don't know if he saw me, but I definitely didn't see him. I appreciate him, even though you know he fell too. He helped me up, but my homegirl did not see it. She said it happened so fast, so I was initiated into Chicago. A driver said, “God doesn't like ugly.” I don't know what that has to do with me getting hit by a bike in a direction I wouldn't expect a bike to even hit me. I really thought that was a weird comment to even make insensitive and tasteless in my opinion. Lesson learned to keep your head on a swivel. It was like a big welcome to Chicago 🤣. I also don't feel bad about it because my little sisters said they got hit by
THREE BIKES AT ONCE, and they live in Brooklyn still lol. My ankle did swell pretty badly that day, and we had to do a lot of walking, so by the end of the night, OUCH, but by the next day, I was fine because I iced a lot and I took Tylenol and so forth. Moral of the story just cross at the intersections just in case you get hit by a speeding bike opposite of traffic lol 😂

Day 1 in Chicago 6/18/26

I am a city girl at heart, so learning the public transportation system helped save A LOT of money. I love saving money! A lot of walking in general!

🌟 Soul Vibez Chicago Ave so good!
10/10 for me. Mini mango lemon drop was one of the best lemon drops I had by far!
