10.13.24: This was the last get together we had at my mom’s house before she passed. I offered to pray over dinner (something I’ve never done before), and I think it may have been me who suggested to hold hands. Of course, I had to get this moment captured and I’m glad I did.

It was loud, chaotic, and full of laughter because we’re not used to holding hands - it’s practically forbidden. But my mom was there, so patient and calm, holding both mine and Dat’s hand, ready for my prayer. It was so funny to hold hands, but looking back at this, I’m in awe at us.

If you know my family, we can get loud and we take too long at anything we do. This dinner was probably at 9pm. My mom always said we play around too much and can never be serious. So, I wonder what she was thinking in that last clip. Was she thinking, “Hurry up, Nina!” “My kids talk too much.” “They can never be serious!” “This is so awkward holding Danny’s hand.” 🤣 Or was she simply just happy that her house was full? 🥹 Looking at this video seeing her so calm and patient makes me wonder how many times she looked like this when we were just too busy talking and being crazy.

I just keep rewatching and looking at how she looks at me in the end 🥺 I hope she knows we all miss her so much. by @itsnina.ph

Die With A Smile came out 3 days after I lost Andre. It’s a song, along with many others, that hits differently when I hear it playing. All in all, it was a phenomenal night. I would go see Bruno Mars 1000000x because his vocals are crazy !!! He sings so damn effortlessly and beautiful! This was a well spent therapy session.

Happy Mother’s Day to my better half and the mother of my child. I can’t even begin to express how thankful I am of you for being the greatest mom to Aaliyah.
