🤸‍♀️ HOW TO USE THE @knkmiami SPRING HANDSTANDS WITH YOUR DANCERS ⤵️⚡️

Working with my pre-pro mentee Penny, we’re breaking this skill down step by step! 🔥

1️⃣ GET ACCLIMATED — Start with push-ups to get comfortable with the spring and the added challenge it creates.

2️⃣ BUILD STABILITY — Move into planks to challenge wrist strength, hand muscles, and shoulder stability.

3️⃣ INTRODUCE THE KICK — Add single-leg battements, kicking one foot up and down to practice weight shifts while building control and strength through the hands and wrists.

4️⃣ WORK INTO THE SPLIT HANDSTAND — Start pushing into the skill, focusing on control, alignment, and maintaining strength through the hands and wrists.

5️⃣ SPOT, TRY, ACHIEVE! — I spotted Penny through the movement before she gave it a try herself… AND SHE GOT IT! 🙌🏼💥

These aren’t about making the trick easier. They’re about making the dancer STRONGER. 💪🏼 The spring adds resistance, challenging the muscles in the hands and wrists while demanding control throughout the skill.

Build the strength. Train the control. Then put it to work. ⚡️

📌 SAVE THIS progression for your next training session!

Always progress gradually, use appropriate spotting, and follow the equipment’s safety guidelines. These are for advanced use.

THE RIGHT CORRECTION CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING. ✨

My Pre-Pro mentee @itspenelopejean and I are working on creating more space in her spine so her flexibility can actually LIVE where it’s supposed to. It’s not always about pushing farther — sometimes it’s about understanding what your body needs to get there.

Watching the correction click = the BEST part🥹

And… maybe it’s time I create an online platform for private training, corrections & dancer education? 👀 WHO’S INTERESTED?

Grab your bestie and head to Bloch Boston! 🩰🤍

We had so much fun visiting Bloch’s new Boston store! From trying on the Elation ballet shoes to picking out new leos and outfits, there was so much to love. The barre with the foot-level camera was such a cool feature, perfect for pointe fittings! ✨

Thank you, @blochdanceusa for having us! Thank you @lauren_hanle for showing us around, I can’t wait to come back 🩰🤍
