I thought about doing what everybody does on the last day of the year, post a 2025 highlight reel.

But after seeing my sis @britneyjeanine share her Declaration of 2026, I felt called to sit down and ask myself a deeper question:

“What am I really trying to do in 2026?”

Not just in business. Not just personally. But spiritually. 🙇🏾‍♀️

Last Sunday at church, the preacher said something that shook me:

“God isn’t here to bless your plans. We’re here to join in His purpose.”

That one line made me rethink everything.

Because if we’re being real, a lot of us are out here making self-centered goals… and wondering why we feel lost, burnt out, or disconnected.

When you are the center of your plans, you feel like you have to carry them alone.

But if your goals are God-sized and God-led, then you’ll move differently. You’ll move in alignment. In partnership. In peace.

So instead of chasing clarity, I’m choosing to receive it.

Instead of setting goals from a place of survival mode & hustle culture, I’m asking:

“Does this align with my purpose, and does it glorify God?”

That’s the energy I’m bringing into 2026.

This is my declaration. My non-negotiables. My mindset reset.

After the last election cycle, I swore that I was done playing politics. Done with America’s games. Done carrying a burden that was never mine to begin with. I said 🗣️COUNT ME OUT (along with the other 92%)! This fight ain’t ours anymore. 😒

But this weekend, I picked up my camera and pulled up to the “No Kings” protest. Not to march. Not to chant. But to witness and document what I knew would be a historic moment. And it was. Over 7 million Americans across the country took to the streets. 🇺🇸

What’s wild is, it’s 2025 and we’re still out here fighting for the same basic rights people were marching for in the 60s. Equal protection. Voting rights. Civil liberties.

But now we’re also up against new layers of harm. We’re protesting fascism, fighting for democracy, fighting for freedom of speech, immigrants’ rights, and calling out the straight-up corruption of the Trump regime and the dangerous rise of white nationalism in plain sight.

And as you can see from the photos, 🗣️THE COUSINS WERE NOT OUTSIDE LOL! And rightfully so, as we’ve BEEN doing the work. BEEN warning folks. BEEN voting in record numbers. And what did the rest of the country do with all that wisdom? Ignored it until the chaos came knocking on their doors.

That said, the energy at the protest was beautiful. It was joyful. It was full of community. It reminded me that outside of all the propaganda being pushed by MAGA media, there are still people out here who believe in basic human decency. Who believe in justice. Who believe in us.

But through all the chaos happening in America, what disturbs me most is how people are out here using God’s name to justify hate, greed, and oppression, and calling it “Christian” nationalism. But if you know God, you know love. You live love. And what we’re seeing? Ain’t it.

God is merciful, yes. But He’s also just. And I truly believe He’s about to pop out soon and let His presence be known in a major way. So, keep playin’ with him if you want to.

Last week was nothing short of amazing! 🙌🏾

Goldman Sachs rolled out the money green carpet for us at the One Million Black Women: Black in Business orientation, and babyyy, it felt like the boule of all boss women. From the moment I stepped in, I’ve never felt so seen, supported, and poured into. 🥰

The energy? Immaculate. The vulnerability? Real. The connection? Instant. No egos, no cliques. Just 315+ Black women all showing up with open hearts and big dreams, ready to grow our businesses and ourselves.

From the NYU Stern speakers to the Goldman Sachs team, to the folks who prepped our meals and fluffed our hotel pillows, everyone showed up with warmth, intention, and love. Like… you could feel how much they wanted us to win.

And the gems? Whew. Mindset shifts, money talks, perspective pivots. I left feeling full and focused. And this was just the orientation. These three days were about preparing our minds for what’s next, and I already know this journey is about to be life-changing.

To my growth group, the panelists, the organizers, and every powerful woman I rubbed shoulders with: thank you. You created a space where I could be both visionary and vulnerable. I laughed, cried, danced, and dreamed out loud, and I’m walking away with more than just notes. I’m walking away with community.

Jersey owed me nothing and still gave me everything. Can’t wait to come back in December for graduation and show y’all how we took the vision and made it strategy. 🤑💲💳 taken in Goldman Sachs by @itsreallynik

No, seriously. Who told us we could only post something once? 👀

I used to be guilty of this too, feeling like if I’d shared a photo already, it was off-limits forever. Like Instagram was gonna tap me on the shoulder and say, “Uh uh, sis, we’ve seen that already.”

But here’s the truth:

1️⃣ Your dream clients might’ve never seen it.

2️⃣ Even your loyal day-ones don’t catch every post.

3️⃣ Content creation is WORK, and some of us got full-time jobs, families, and a cell phone battery that stays on 3%.

So if that shoot still hits, if that edit still eats? 👏🏾Post. 👏🏾It. 👏🏾Again.

And again.
And again.

Until the people who need to see it… do.

And for the folks who wanna clock repeat content, just hit that like button and mind ya bizness! 💁🏾‍♀️

Let’s be real... I tried full-time entrepreneurship a few years ago.

And trust me when I say—it was NOT givin’ soft life like Instagram had promised. 😅

I had to humble myself and head back to corporate.

And honestly? That was the best move I could’ve made for my creativity, my peace, and my pockets.

Here’s what folks don’t say loud enough:

“You can’t create freely when you’re in survival mode!”

Stress will choke your creativity every time!

To all my creatives debating whether to leave that job and go full-time freelance, this post is for you.

I get it, but I lived it. And let me tell you, building your dream doesn’t have to mean suffering first.

Especially in this economy where everything feels shaky, rent is looking like a mortgage, and President Cheeto is out here doing backflips on what little stability we do have!

Now is not the time to gamble with your peace.

Swipe through for 5️⃣ reasons you might wanna keep that 9-to-5 while you build your side hustle.

Because freedom hits different when your bills are already paid.

This past weekend, I surprised my mom with tickets to see her favorite basketball player, Steph Curry. 🏀

[STORY TIME]: To know my mom is to know that she LOVES her some Steph Curry. Like, capital L loves. She’s been rocking with Steph since his Davidson days. His underdog story, his impact on the game, and his Christian walk (chef’s kiss for her) have always resonated deeply.

This woman is the ultimate fan. She doesn’t have a single cable subscription but will hop on YouTube to catch every game’s highlights like her life depends on it. That’s dedication. 😂

It’s always been her dream to see Steph play live at the Chase Center in San Francisco. But between the cost and not having any fellow basketball fans in her circle, that dream has been sitting on the back burner. So for years, it’s been on my bucket list to make it happen for her.

When I heard Steph had accepted the co-assistant general manager role for Davidson’s basketball program (his alma mater), I knew the window was closing. My guy could hang up his jersey any day now, and he’s already making moves for life after the NBA.

So I got to work. I cooked up a whole plan and told my mom I’d been invited to speak at the B&H Creators Summit: Not Just a Photographer – Scaling, Branding, and Monetizing Your Craft in New York City. The gag? The event “offered” me a plus-one to bring a guest at no cost. Naturally, I told her she was coming with me.

Then the day before our flight, I spilled the tea. I told her the truth about where we were really headed and why. And babyyyy... the moment was everything. 🤣

The economy & President Cheeto got everybody side-eyein’ their bank account like “Did I somehow end up on the boycott list?” 😅

Spoiler alert: It’s not just you! 🫠

If business has been slow lately, same. If you’re feeling unsure about what’s next, you’re not alone. This season is stretching ALL of us. But don’t let the slowdown make you question your purpose.

Give yourself grace, but don’t stop moving.

Now’s the time to:
☑️ Follow up with past clients
☑️ Refresh your website or portfolio
☑️ Rework your packages
☑️ Sharpen your skills or learn new ones
☑️ Tap into your local community
☑️ And get real creative with how you show up!

This ain’t the end. It’s just a reroute. You still have something special to offer. And yes, the lights are gon’ stay on because God didn’t bring us this far just to 👻 us now!

This is Chapter 37. 🎂

This year, I’m giving myself permission to slow down and listen to me.

I’m gettin back to my roots, exploring what I love, what lights me up, and what my inner child’s been whispering all along.

It’s givin’ femininity. It’s givin’ soft life. It’s givin’ intention.

I’m showing up with purpose, pouring into the people I love, and moving with grace.

This chapter is givin’ GROWN ASS WOMAN! Cheers to 37! 🥂😌
