KRONK & YZMA FOR THE WIN! 💜🦙

We’ve been talking about dressing up as Kronk and Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove for YEARS, but somehow every Halloween there was another big pop culture moment that felt too good to pass up. Well, this year we finally made it happen, and I think these might be some of my favorite costumes we’ve ever done!

One of our favorite Halloween traditions is making as much of our costumes ourselves as possible, though we do have different approaches… I bought a few pieces to use as a starting point, then went to town with a hot glue gun, adding feathers, fabric, and anything else I could find to make Yzma as dramatic and over-the-top as possible.

Ryan, on the other hand, is a purist. He started with literal bolts of fabric and a sewing machine and made his ENTIRE Kronk costume from scratch. WHAT TALENT! The man has patience and sewing skills that I simply do not possess.

And of course, we HAVE to give a huge shoutout to the incredible Merrie, who came over and worked her magic on our makeup! With her talent, some prosthetics, and a whole lot of transformation, she helped us take these costumes to an entirely different level. We barely recognized ourselves by the end! @merriemakeupartist

All in all, there were a lot of hours, a lot of crafting supplies, and a whole lot of purple body paint involved, but we absolutely LOVE how everything turned out. After years of talking about these costumes, it was so fun to finally bring them to life!!

I thought this would be the hardest part, but having a friend with a 3-D printer is a life saver!

So glad I didn’t screw up this part! That would have been a lot of work to fix!

This year is all about KRONK & YZMA!! We spent about 5 hours total today getting into costume, then spent the rest of the afternoon/evening filming what I think is some of our funniest content yet! Make sure to follow along and come back tomorrow to see!

Also, HUGE thanks to @merriemakeupartist for helping with our looks! We are THRILLED with how they turned out!

I finally get to be a dude for Halloween, and somehow I still have to wear a corset. This is so not fair! 😒
