September ✨ What a month…

This lasted 2 seconds 🐱

My grandma’s memorial 🩷

Traveled to Atlanta for work! 🍑

Worked the biggest event we sponsored of the year 🛡️

Finally saw The Odyssey in 70mm IMAX (begrudgingly worth it)

Disney day with our niece!

Started and finished an embroidery project for the first time in a bit 🪡 Felt good to get back into the groove!

Part two of our trip to Greece! We spent a few days in Athens, and really enjoyed it! After our guided tour of the Acropolis, the rest of our trip we simply explored and walked around various parts of the city. 🇬🇷

We even tried a Michelin Star restaurant for the first time, @hytra_restaurant, and it was incredible!

Overall incredible grateful to have experienced this trip this year, it was our first European trip together as a couple. (We were planning to go to Italy in 2020 but well….we all know what happened back then lol.) Can’t wait for our next adventure! ✨ taken in Athens, Greece by @itssarakatherine

I’m finding myself reminiscing about our trip to Greece lately, so I thought I’d do a couple photo dumps and share more about our experience!

The first portion was based on Crete - I had a work retreat with the European side of the company I work for in Heraklion, and my husband joined me after!

When he joined, we rented a car and drove to Chania, which was definitely my favorite side of the island. We drove all around the west side of the island, walked all around the different areas of Chania, did an olive oil tour at @terracretagreece, stumbled upon a local winery and brewery, saw the oldest olive tree in the world, and saw so so many cats (making us miss ours even more lol).

I was unfortunately sick during this entire trip (which you may see with my tired face in the next batch of pics when we’re in Athens 😂) but we were still able to do almost everything we had planned and had a great time!

This trip was one of those moments where I was in awe that I was actually experiencing something I had spent months looking at in photos and thinking, “man that will be so beautiful to see.” So grateful we had the opportunity to go! taken in Chaniá, Greece by @itssarakatherine

Something I’ve been working on for a little over a year is figuring out my own personal style.

Part of this was because I felt like I had never really spent time figuring out my preferred style, some of it was from my body changing during and after the pandemic, also my job switched back to in-office last year - all of these reasons pushed me to start being more intentional about the clothes I buy!

I’ve historically been very “whatever” about what I wear, whatever is comfortable, decently flattering, easy, actually fits…pants have always been very hard for me to find, at all sizes I’ve been in my life. So simply finding something that fits me well…is hard enough. I was never motivated to find things that both fit me well and fit my style.

I’m still not fully there, and some of these outfits might be a bit simple to some, but I’m trying to blend some of my inspo (shown at the end) with what’s realistic to find in my size, in a somewhat capsule-wardrobe kind of way! 👕👚👖

Lessons from March ☘️

- Protecting my boundaries during a busy season at work is critical
- One step at a time really, truly, makes a difference when you feel stuck
- I really need to stop scrolling when I’m already tired and drained, it doesn’t make me feel better
- Some of my habits that I viewed as weaknesses can also be used as a strength
- Had to get really vulnerable to my therapist about something that I think I’ve been in denial about for a while
- Sometimes making the “right” decision just means to choose something and make it the right choice along the way

I turned 33 yesterday, and it’s coincidentally been a time of quiet self-reflection…

This past year felt heavier than I expected. Not all bad - there were beautiful moments - but I haven’t quite felt like myself.

There’s been stress, uncertainty, growing pains, and a lot of internal pressure on myself to figure things out. I think somewhere along the way I started carrying more than I realized, and didn’t leave much space for softness, play, or joy. I got caught in the weeds of everything I needed to manage, and lost touch with the parts of me that feel light and creative and embodied.

But this birthday feels different.

Not because everything is magically resolved (it’s not) but because I’m more aware. Aware of where I’ve been holding myself back. Aware of the habits that don’t serve me. Aware of how much I want to feel alive again, not just responsible.

Not entirely sure what this looks like long term for me, and I admit I’m a little scared — but I’m curious to see how this year turns out.

*Peeks out from behind corner* Hello…??

It’s been a while!

I took quite a bit of a break from my blog, but in the last few months I’ve been craving a regular dose of creative expression in my life, and my husband encouraged me to give blogging another try.

I had been noodling on this idea for a couple months, coincidentally, so I took the opportunity to run with this idea…and now I’m back!

To give you the ultimate catch-up, I published a post that reflects on the first year I was absent…2024!

I’m working on my 2025 recap and review now, but it’s going to take more time because there’s a lot of personal reflection that occurred this year that I’m learning and growing from to this day.
