On July 3rd, I had a hysterectomy, including removal of my uterus, cervix, both fallopian tubes and right ovary — and while this chapter has challenged me physically and emotionally, my choice and my identity remain fully my own. I’ve never wanted children and this surgery doesn’t change anything about my worth, my future, or my womanhood — because the ability to have children doesn’t define any of us. I’m sharing this to empower anyone facing fibroids, hysterectomies, or their own path that looks different from society’s expectations — listen to your body, advocate for your health, and know you are whole exactly as you are. ✨

💡 Did you know?
Up to 70–80% of women develop uterine fibroids by age 50, and many go undiagnosed until symptoms become too loud to ignore. Early checkups and imaging matter.

✨ September Recap (yes, a little late post 😅) ✨

This month was one for the books — full of surprises, plot twists, and unexpected blessings disguised as chaos. From spontaneous opportunities to lessons I didn’t see coming, September kept me on my toes (and maybe tested my patience a few times 👀).

But hey, growth doesn’t always come gift-wrapped — sometimes it shows up in disguise, with a side of “Are you serious right now?” 😂

Here’s to rolling with the punches, trusting the process, and laughing through the wild ride. 💫

July Dump 💫💜💗🫶
This month was a whole mix of healing, grieving, and gratitude. I had surgery to remove fibroids that had been silently draining me for way too long — and let me tell you, healing is not just physical. I'm still in therapy, still missing my Altadena home, still processing all the loss… but I’m also still showing up for myself.

Surrounded by some of my favorite people, eating ridiculously good food, and reminding myself that joy can exist even in the in-between. 🍽️✨

June flew by in a blur of good eats, sweet treats, family hangs, memory-making with friends, vibrant drinks, work hustle, and surprise butterfly sightings (too quick for the camera 📸🦋).

The Current Chapter💫

The first few photos were taken the day before the Eaton Wildfires — moments of peace I didn’t know I’d soon be holding onto. The next few are what I returned home to — ashes and heartbreak.

I wasn’t thinking clearly when I left that day so I grabbed a few clothes, my old beater shoes and my laptop — nothing more. The days that followed felt overwhelming — donation centers, piecing together essentials, and staying at a FEMA-sponsored hotel while grieving my home.

Through it all, El Maya Gourmet Foods has remained a part of me — a reminder that resilience isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about showing up, even when things feel impossible. While I stepped away from social media to focus on healing, I’m finding my way back — stronger, wiser, and deeply grateful.

I wouldn’t have made it this far without the kindness of my community. Thank you:

💚 @cityslickers for the sunglasses I wear daily — a small but powerful reminder to face each day with confidence
💜 @vybetye for the pink/purple tie-dye tee and bag that lifted my spirits.
🧡 @smorgasburgla for your support and last-minute signage.
🩷 @diosa_alex for the clothes, perfumes, grief book, and heart rock — each item felt like a hug, reminding me I wasn’t alone.
💙 @baggy_jeanss x @zsupply for the much-needed care package.
💛@audrey_veeeee for dropping off thoughtful essentials that brought me comfort.

This journey has shown me that even in the darkest moments, kindness, love, and hope can help you rise again.
