For my new friends and pals to my page, please allow me to introduce myself and provide some background to my name! My name is 𝗧𝗮𝗲𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴, and I’m a Korean rescue dog from @welcomedogkorea.

I was adopted by my pawrents earlier this year, after I spent over two years in the organization looking for my forever family. The rescue organization named me “Taeyang”, which stands for “sunshine” in Korean. And yes - it’s also the name of the popular kpop singer from Big Bang 😂 My pawrents decided to keep my name because of my bright and lively personality. Plus, they also thought I was a ray of sunshine in their lives, as much and they are in mine ☀️

As a side note - my mama speaks mandarin, so they’ve slightly altered the pronunciation of my name to “tai yang” (太陽) instead 🥰

yes he really looked at the wipe like “THAT came off MY paws???” 😭💀🫪😷

and yes, bro just discovered what he’s been stepping in this whole time…

Tae is generally pretty clean and avoids puddles and mud, but clearly there’s still dirt and other bacteria that gets trapped in his paws. We love these wipes as part of our post-walk routine because it’s multipurpose for cleansing anywhere.

but… he likes to get his face deep into bushes that have other dog’s PEE residue on it… which leaves yellow stains on his face (gross lol) … 😝🐾🧼 safe to say, @dandylionworld saves the day 🫡

just checking in… 🥺💛🩵✨

maybe these are reminders for myself too. it’s hard to juggle between being a good dog mom, working, keeping up with social media, and being present.

📈 progress feels like it should be linear, especially when every walk has been a “training opportunity” and we’ve exhausted all of our “high value treats”. but lately I’ve been having more tired days when I just want to go for a normal walk without any distractions, or constantly keeping an eye out for triggers. the big kicker is when I get comments in public like:
➡️“you need to train him”,
➡️“he shouldn’t be doing that”.
➡️or even at a DOG PARK: “he shouldn’t be barking.”

It feels shitty and discouraging when Tae is back to his reactive ways again, but I have to remind myself that we’ve still made a net positive progress since we adopted him 🥺

🧸 realistically, we can’t afford or have the space to buy another new treat or toy (mind you we have boxes of them already), especially as we’ve been spending our money on a trainer. and maybe our dogs are trying to tell us they really don’t need much to be happy either. it makes me feel guilty as a dog mom when I can’t post about another big shopping haul. but we’re also trying to be conscious to not over consume either.

📲 life does life things and can be rough, and I’m guilty of doomscrolling, figuring out what to post, and simply keeping up. I’ve been trying to be more mindful of having less screen time, and more actual quality time - no phones, no social media, and being present. who knew how hard this would be LOL. but the feeling of FOMO is real when it feels like I haven’t engaged with the dog community (sorry dog friends 🥺).

PS I had no clue that hopping on this trend would turn into a long TedTalk LOL
