I got quite emotional putting this together because 16 year old me only needed to see this once 🥺

Thank you, @hera.women for creating a campaign that celebrates what women actually look like.

Different ages.
Different backgrounds.
Different stories.
Different shapes and sizes.

Not because it was a “body positivity” campaign.
Not because anyone needed fixing.
Just because that’s what real women look like.

Growing up, so many of us were taught there was always a “right” body. One decade it was being as skinny as possible.
The next it was curves.
Then toned.
Then this.
Then that.

The goalposts never stopped moving.

So to walk into a room today where nobody was trying to be anyone else… where 15 women spent the day cheering each other on instead of comparing themselves… was incredibly refreshing!!

There wasn’t a single moment that felt intimidating.
Every woman was someone else’s hype girl, and I left with new friends, so much confidence, and a reminder that there’s room for every single one of us 🤍

To the entire Hera team: thank you for making us feel seen, comfortable and celebrated.
Every detail of today was thoughtful, relaxed and genuine.

We weren’t there to be perfect.
We were just real women, in a REALLY great pair of jeans.

The boys decided they were going to vlog our PR day trip for their YouTube channel (that absolutely does not exist 😅).
Their vlogging careers were short-lived because they were far too busy having fun!!!

We spent the day at Watermouth Castle after being invited for their Pumpkins at the Castle event …. genuinely, we had one of the best family days out we’ve had in ages! 🎃

SO much for the boys to do, rides galore, plenty of space to explore without feeling like you’re on top of everyone, and the Halloween decorations were just brilliant. We’re a big Halloween family so it takes a lot for us to be wowed at every turn!

Even better, Maggie could come along too, with dogs welcome in almost every area 🐾

We’d never been before but it was one of those days where you get home absolutely shattered but already want to go back.

The boys might not have a YouTube channel but they’d absolutely LOVE to know what you think of their vlogging skills 😅

And a big thank you to @watermouthcastle for inviting us along and giving us such a lovely family day out! 🧡

This was her first time out on the grass (mid-installation) and the zoomies totally took over 🥹🥹🥹

Bless her heart.
Ever since she came home to us, the garden has not been a place she could enjoy.

Our new grass takes it to a whole new level where both the kids and Maggie can fully make the most of it 🥺

7 years.

That’s how long this has taken us 🥹🌿

When we bought this house, we thought we’d renovate it bit by bit. Then life happened.

We had 2 little boys.
We lived through COVID.
We changed jobs.
We lost my Dad.
We welcomed Maggie.

We saved, spent, saved again… and like so many families, every time we thought we’d tackle the next project, something else came along.

The garden has probably been our biggest battle.

We tried growing real grass more than once, but it just never worked. It became more weeds than lawn, and the boys never really had the space we wanted them to have.

Artificial grass was never our first choice.
I grew up in South Africa, barefoot on real grass, so this wasn’t what I’d always imagined.
But what mattered most was giving our boys (and Maggie 🐾) somewhere safe to run, play and make memories.

A huge thank you to @grassdirect for gifting us this grass 💚
Even the installers commented on the quality, which made us feel even more confident we’d made the right decision.

We’re nowhere near finished.
There’s still fencing, walls, an old garage that needs to come down and plenty more on the list.

But today feels like one of those milestones where you stop, look back at where you started, and realise just how far you’ve come.

If you’re renovating your home and wondering why it’s taking so long… I promise you’re not the only one.
Life has a funny way of reshuffling your priorities.

Here’s to finally enjoying our garden. ☀️🌿

here we go again ….. another summer with the kids loading ☀️
unexpected plot twist in the career arc, but we move.
more content, more chaos, more creating, more memories.

my UGC girl era is fully loading as i am fully leaning into the new opportunities 📲

i am very open to what’s next, so if something feels right (or you know of something), send it my way 🤍

p.s sending love to all the mums out there trying to do both: building a career they’re proud of while showing up at home the way they want to.

we’ll find the right rooms for us, even if we have to build them ourselves ✨

10 weeks of life with Maggie who’s now a big 18 weeks old.
& what a joy it’s been to welcome her into our life 🐾

You have no idea how much you were needed Maggs - and the parts of me you’ve healed.
A reason to get us out more, a reason to come home to 4 little paws excited to see us, a reason to be in the garden more, to wake up early, to take 6am walks and to go to all the air-conditioned cafes just because.

We love you Maggie 💛
