The Freedom Series is my exploration through the messages in my music this year, exclusively catered to my DMV audience. Volume One is a live show at El Secreto de Rosita: a Michelin Guide-listed restaurant on U Street with the best Peruvian cuisine in town, handcrafted cocktails, and gorgeous vibes.

This year has been a season of shedding, and you can hear it in my music that I released this year. “Audacity” was an announcement that said NO MORE. “FREE” named the perpetual trap of doing everything right and still not feeling free that burdens the existence of milennials. And “Burning Bridges” which we are dropping Sept 25 is about letting go of the dead weight that never should’ve made the trip with you.

This year I’ve been reaching deeper with my writing, more intentional with my story telling, and I’m just less interested in impressing anyone if it doesn’t include telling the truth. Because freedom is a decision I’ve had to make on purpose, over and over.

This show and this music is for anyone who’s tired of waiting for permission, everyone who is doing the internal work before the external life catches up, and all my ladies who are choosing themselves first, on purpose, this year.
Come celebrate what it looks like to walk into your own emancipation.

How’d i get the burn you say? I was trying to steam my voice for singing in Houston because i definitely was having some crazy allergy and cold symptoms after being in LA for BET awards and NOLA after that... i couldn’t shake my symptoms in NOLA and i was way nervous abt Houston because i thought i was going to be doing a lot of singing.
So anyway, i was breathing in some nice steam and while i was doing it, some droplets fell from the chamber and sizzled my skin up right as it was dripping down my shirt. The following day it was already nice and burgundy as i was packing my bags. Amazing experience. 5⭐️ no notes 😭😩🤣🤣🤣🤣

🔥 BRIDGE 1: The old me who had to look perfect before she’d let you see her.
That mark on my chest is a real burn. I keloid, so having a fresh scar like that right before the release for my next single was fawking incredible lmao. And then the flower dress. I wasn’t seeing flowers for this fall release. AT ALL.
And there it was on the treatment. A flower dress. I don’t wear flowers lmao.
Then when we got to the location, 🧊 was around the corner, we had no photography pass for the location, employees were yelling at us to leave, and i was itchy in all the takes from laying in real grass (which I’m allergic to)… for the sake of avoiding the ever damning words “she’s so hard to work with!”
The old me people pleases. The old me is a winner. The old me can’t speak up.
I tried to speak up but i was itchy so i was bitey, and words became contentious… nice! we had a whole week left together.
I cried that night on the 7th floor of a hotel in Houston with no elevators, Benadryl, and my 3 herniated discs in my back begging for their usual memory foam with heat and massage in Maryland… nervous that i would never get the opportunity to drop a song again for making this mistake, and having an off day.
Yes that’s very dramatic but I’m a Gemini living with AuDhd. It is what it is.
Old me would’ve gone home the next morning, tail tucked with just one visualizer.
New me stayed. New me tried again the next day. new me gave a man a 2nd chance. New me is posting it anyway.
Burn and all. Dress and all. Drama and all.
Still beautiful. Still talented. Still me. And that’s more than enough. 🤎

I’ve been promoting this music all year out of town and i wish i could’ve posted a dope video of me singing my new music live, but even with budgeting videographers at my shows, i just don’t have a good one can you believe it? 😩😩😩
