70.3 Ironman

I bloody did that!

1.9km of ocean swimming
90km on the bike
21.1km of running
All done in 6 hours and 5mins

That’s 6 hours of nonstop movement.

Honestly it’s still all so surreal to me, to think that I have spent months training for this moment. I was aiming for sub 6hrs but honestly 6:05 is pretty damn near close.

The biggest thank you to my support crew who came out to cheer me on this race, you guys have no idea how much that support pushed me through the toughest times. To my coach @nicholasrobertspt who has never coached a triathlon before let alone an Ironman, yet still managed to coach me to it.

Dare I say, this is only just the beginning…

The stats 📈

Goal: sub 1:20
Actual: 1:18:38

The best stats:
9th overall in the AG
4th in the Row
21st on the Ski

Master of the ergs it seems 🫡

Smiled through the pain, had that much fun & definitely could have ran faster.

I guess I’m back to being a gym girly 🏋️‍♀️

Ps. Getting a wet Willy before a heavy set of hip thrusts doesn’t make the lift easier 🙃

Week 39 training recap

& we are back. Took a week off literally everything. And now we are back on the grind with no race coming up.

Training for the rest of this year will focus on building back strength and body composition. Getting faster with running (aim to get a new 5km PB) & keep my swim/cycling abilities because who knows I might race tri again 👀

Insert new personality: Track star

Long distance training has been fun, but there’s nothing quite like speed running until the legs fall off.

New goal: Sub 24min 5km (current PB 24:30)
