Sea mist wraps the ridge,
Old gods guard the shifting tide,
Love outruns the storm.

This race is named for Kassios Dias a local name for Zeus, an ancient beacon sailors looked to when the waters turn violent.
Running the steep, clouded trails of Northern Corfu on Mother’s Day felt less like a test of fitness and more like a lesson in reverence.

I found myself thinking about the steady, quiet anchor of my own life while making my way up the rugged slopes and through the dense forest. It takes an incredible amount of grace to navigate the unpredictable paths we’ve walked over the last five years.

Even during my frantic, last-minute race prep, Needhee’s steady support and encouragement were the exact grounding I needed before stepping onto the dirt. The mountains test your footing, but it’s the love at home that keeps you from falling. taken in Kassiópi, Greece by @itsuditrathore

Walking through the narrow, sun-drenched streets of Corfu Old Town, I found myself reflecting on the journey we’ve taken to get here. I am truly impressed by the grace and beauty in the way you are raising our daughter into an amazing woman.
Over these past five years, I’ve watched you lean into difficult and uncomfortable challenges, only to emerge as an even more incredible and inspiring version of yourself. There’s a specific kind of peace, and a specific kind of pain, that you only find on a rowing shell. 🚣‍♂️

Before lining up for the Putney and Fulham Half Marathon, I caught this view of the rowers near Putney Bridge. It took me straight back to my college days training on the Severn.

It’s been nearly ten years since we last stood under the London Eye. Back then, it was a birthday trip for Needhee and we opt to save the Ferris Wheel ride for later.

Returning now feels exciting. It’s no longer just about the height or the city skyline; it’s about the three of us enjoying it together. Seeing the world through our daughter’s eyes during this year off has been the greatest gift of all.

I recently visited my mom’s ancestral home in Kapurthala and came across my Grandfathers name at their brick kiln and farm. This was my second time in my life and the first time in 15 years.
