Happy NINTH birthday to a huge piece of my heart! Beckham made so many of my dreams come true when he entered this world. I’ll never forget hearing his first cries, holding him and crying in that little Airbnb in Kansas not believing someone chose me to be his mom. He was here and he was mine.

Beckham has the biggest personality. He is so sweet, so funny, so tender-hearted. He’s wild, he’s outspoken, and he’s such a great kid. He’s talented in so many ways, he’s smart, and he is the life of the party. I pray daily I can always help his beautiful spirit and personality shine. He loves every sport, he loves to fish, he loves music and dancing, he loves to be a helper, and he loves his people big.

September is National Suicide Prevention Month. 2018 was one of the darkest years of my life, where I spent every day believing that the world would be better off without me here. One night, while my family was all sleeping, I stood at the kitchen counter sobbing while I wrote a goodbye letter to each important person in my life. Where I told my kids how much I loved them and I was so sorry. Where I told my parents it wasn’t their fault and I “just can’t do it anymore.” In my mind I didn’t know “how” I would do it, but the depression and the sadness and anxiety I carried with me daily felt like it was so much to bear that one day I just simply wouldn’t be able to wake up from another night of the pain.

Somehow, by the grace of God, I woke up the next morning. And the next. And the next. And the next. I sought help + slowly but surely, all the color came back to my very dark world.

Not only would I have missed so many moments, but there would have been so many moments where I would have been missed. When you’re in the thick of the darkness, it’s so hard to remember that there are people here whose lives would be forever broken if you chose to leave.

I promise you that this world is better with you in it. I promise there is no parent like you, sibling like you, child like you, friend like you, who can take your place.

I love you, I care about you, and I want you to stay.

Thank you Jesus, for the gift of living life in color. 🌈

SO SO SO SO GRATEFUL to be homeschooling the boys this year! Although we are one day in and I don’t know how y’all do this 🤣 we will find our groove and routine + I am just so grateful that between Charlee at middle school, my work schedule, and life, God still allowed time and the opportunity for me to teach the boys. Not having that horrible pit in my stomach dropping them off somewhere is a moment I did not and do not take for granted. Thank you Jesus! 🤍

My girl started her FIRST day of her LAST year of middle school today. 13 years old. No one could have prepared me for what it feels like to watch your babies grow. “It goes by fast” was nowhere near enough of a warning. ❤️‍🩹
