💕 COMMUNITY IS BIGGER THAN COVERAGE. 💕

My mama gave me this idea, and the more I thought about it, the more it meant to me. 🥹🫶🏾

For the next trial, I want to make sure the people standing outside that courthouse for hours — sometimes day after day, week after week — have access to water, something to eat, and basic necessities.

Because at some point, we stop being strangers standing outside the same building. We become a little community. 🤎

We may all have different channels, different opinions, different backgrounds and different reasons for being there — but we’re still standing beside each other every morning.

And as one of the older Black women out there, I want to be intentional about the example I set. 💕 I want the younger creators watching us to see that community means more than showing up with a camera.

It means looking out for each other.

If somebody’s been standing outside since 5 or 6 in the morning, offer them some water. 💦
If somebody hasn’t eaten, let them grab a snack. 🍎
If there’s trash around us, pick it up. 🧹
If somebody needs a hand, help them.

We can cover these trials, build our platforms and tell these stories without forgetting to take care of one another.

And when we leave that courthouse every evening, I want us to leave that space cleaner than we found it. 💗

25 years later… and somehow, Baby Girl is still everywhere. 🖤

Aaliyah has always been so much more than an artist I loved. She is one of my idols. Her voice, her style, her femininity, her quiet confidence, her mystery, her sweetness… the way she never had to be the loudest person in the room to be unforgettable.

She taught an entire generation that soft doesn’t mean weak. Quiet doesn’t mean invisible. And you never have to do too much when you already know who you are.

Her sound was ahead of its time.
Her style became timeless.
Her influence never left.

There are artists whose music reminds you of an era… and then there are artists whose DNA becomes part of everything that comes after them.

That’s Aaliyah.

I often wonder what music she would’ve made, what movies she would’ve starred in, what fashion moments she would’ve given us, and who she would’ve become as a woman. She deserved the opportunity to find out. 🥺

But what she created in only 22 years has lived for another 25—and will live far beyond us.

Today I’m not just remembering how we lost her.

I’m celebrating that she was here. 🕊️

Thank you for showing us that femininity could be soft, tomboy, sexy, elegant, mysterious and completely your own.

From South Central Los Angeles to Baton Rouge, Louisiana… real recognizes real. 🤞🏽

I’m a Scorpio. He’s a Scorpio. ♏️
I’m from the West Coast. He’s from the South.
Different cities. Similar resilience.

Life isn’t always easy when you come from places people overlook, but that’s exactly why I relate to his music. It’s about surviving, staying authentic, and believing in yourself when the odds are stacked against you.

I’ve been rocking with Boosie for YEARS. Through all the highs, the lows, the wins, the losses, the trials, the tribulations… one thing that never changed is that he stayed HIMSELF. 💯

He’s a Scorpio ♏️ (period 😭), an incredible father who clearly loves his children, and whether people agree with him or not, he’s always stood on what he believes. I can respect somebody who stays authentic instead of changing for the internet.
