"Dunesday" is the viral nickname for December 18, 2026, the date when two major blockbuster films Warner Bros.' Dune: Part Three and Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday—are scheduled to open in theaters on the exact same day Coined playfully by Robert Downey Jr. and Timothée Chalamet during a promotional event, the showdown is drawing immediate comparisons to the 2023 "Barbenheimer" phenomenon, though industry analysts note these two films appeal to a more overlapping sci-fi and comic-book demographic.
