There is something about being back...

Back to the emails, meetings, deadlines, decisions, and the 17 things that somehow need your attention at the same time. Nobody really talks about the awkward in-between phase of returning to work after a break. You're physically present, your calendar is filling up, people are asking questions, but you're still trying to remember which version of yourself handles all these things.

One of my first major projects since returning to work was the 2026 Nigeria Leadership Journey Immersion, delivered through a partnership between @womenlifthealth and @wilanglobal

I picked things up towards the end of planning, overseeing communications, vendors, media engagement, and event coverage. So much for easing back in. We had work to do!

It was such a beautiful experience being in a room full of women investing in their growth, learning from one another, and somewhere between the activities, and the familiar bustle of making things happen, I found myself reflecting on my own relationship with work

We speak a lot about resilience in professional spaces, but perhaps we should talk just as much about the grace required to find our rhythm again.Sometimes you're just figuring it out as you go, and that's okay too.

Anywayyyyy, we are outside again. One project, one deadline, and one unanswered email at a time. 🤭

It’s right to say and set the record straight that feminism is not misandry!!

We can challenge sexism without hating men. We can want better for women without wanting less for men.

Feminists do not hate men. We just have zero tolerance for bias and call it out whenever it shows up. We challenge the social, cultural, economic, and institutional barriers that disadvantage women because they are women. Period!

Who decided boys should lead and girls should assist? Because somehow, we’ve been practising this long before anyone ever called it sexism.

But these ideas don’t just disappear when we grow up. They follow girls into workplaces, politics, relationships and every room where leadership is up for grabs.

It’s taught. It’s repeated. It’s ingrained.

Women, let's talk!! We really need to be our sisters' keeper.

It doesn’t take a corner office or a big title to make a difference.

Having a level of influence, whether as a manager, team lead, colleague or mentor, should be an opportunity to make room for other women and advocate for them.

Because sometimes, you know what it’s like to be in that position. You know what support can mean. Wherever you have influence, use it to make the space better for the women coming after you.
