Early antlerless season starts TODAY.

One of the biggest questions answered by the NYS DEC at ATA yesterday: antlerless deer taken during the early season require photo-documented evidence. Make sure you know the requirements before heading out.

And if you fill an extra tag, consider putting that harvest to work.

New York is asking hunters to play a bigger role in deer management, and we believe the infrastructure to support them needs to grow with that responsibility.

That’s why we created Hunt. Donate. Feed Local.

Hunters can donate an eligible, legally harvested deer to a participating processor. The venison is professionally processed, then picked up, prepared and distributed through our local food partners to families throughout our region.

One donated deer can provide approximately 40 pounds of venison, or an estimate estimated 150 meals.

This season, Into The Wild is launching Hunt. Donate. Feed Local. A regional venison donation program connecting hunters, local processors, and food distribution partners to help feed families throughout our community.

Beginning September 12, hunters may donate legally harvested, properly tagged deer through participating processors:

Sullivan County: @springbrookfarm206
Orange County: @deersertos_butcher

Donated deer will be processed into ground venison, picked up by our local food-distribution partners (@asinglebiteorg and Sullivan county Federation for the Homeless) and prepared for local community meals. by @itwarcheryfest

The @itwarcheryfest was an absolute blast this weekend! Shoutout to Ashley and Mike at @allthingsaccuracy for throwing the event!

We had a ton of fun playing the flip a frog game, giving away rods, hats and reels to the kids and talking fishing!

@one_last_cast.co and I even got to enjoy the private lake on the property and caught some fish!

We can't wait for next year.
