The final poster for Last Goal Wins by Justice Ezi is here! Directed by Kalungi Ssebandeke and presented as part of The Ryan Calais Cameron Season in our beautiful Studio theatre. Set against the backdrop of the frenzy of the World Cup, Last Goal Wins follows two best friends Victory and Youssef as they compete for the final spots on the Nigerian national team. Meet Me Outside For @lastgoalwins_play at @broadwaycatford INVITE 💌Last Goal Wins proves that football can be the starting point for a much bigger conversation.Set around a group of players competing for a place in Nigeria’s World Cup squad, the play explores ambition, identity, politics, and what it really means to represent your country. While every character is chasing the same dream, they’re all carrying different personal battles, making the story emotionally engaging.The production celebrates Nigerian culture nicely. The humour, banter, and cultural references feel authentic creating moments that had the audience laughing. It also asks thought-provoking questions about belonging, especially for those in the diaspora, and whether real change can happen from within systems that have long been broken.The cast brought incredible energy from beginning to end. With such a physically demanding production, every actor fully committed to the choreography and movement, maintaining the intensity throughout the show. Running at @broadwaycatford and only on till this Sunday this must see production of @lastgoalwins_play(Last Goal Wins) by @itz_justice__ (Justice Ezi) is “nail biting” according to @guardian ‘s 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review who call Justice Ezi a “clear talent”. With a talented ensemble that includes Benjamin Akintuyosi, @kossim_o (Kossim Osseni), @cameronforrest10 (Cameron Forrest) @jeromengonadi (Jerome Ngonadi) and @xlobo (Alexander Lobo Moreno).
