The Morphology Project is complete. It was a privilege to be part of this photographic journey, documenting the birth of a new conservation area- The Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area. This new site has revitalized industrial wasteland in Mississauga, one of Canada’s largest cities. Inspirational. Positive. Groundbreaking.

Honoured and grateful to receive these trophies from the Mississauga Camera Club.
My fellow photographer’s creativity, talent and passion are an inspiration and thank you to the experts who willingly share techniques. I loved the expeditions and seeing how the same scene can be interpreted in so many ways.

This Club is run by dedicated volunteers- what a generous way to share your time. It has been in existence since 1972.

Photography is a journey of discovery and connection. You literally never know what moments or stories will be waiting. Sometimes it’s just creating a little peace looking through the lens and trying to see what technology and creativity can create. It’s fun!

If anyone wants to learn more about photography, (and there is always more to learn!), or meet others who share the same interests, consider joining a camera club. Who knows where the journey will go?

A photo featuring a hotdog-headed person sitting near us at the Blue Jays game. Lol. She seemed pretty focused on getting on tv, I hope she did. Tuesday nights are Loonie Dog Nights at Home Blue Jays baseball games at the Rogers Centre, and fans regularly crush 100,000 dogs.

This white echinacea flower popped up in the midst of the pink echinacea plant that i have had for years. Is it a mutation or did a cultivar somehow end up in here? Who knows but it called out for a photo. The garden is loving the rain. taken in Mississauga, Ontario by @itzagr8day

Incoming! Common Eastern bumblebee finds a pollen meal on the grey-headed coneflower which is just starting to bloom in our native plant garden. It’s a graceful plant with it’s flower heads floating on thin stems. Did you know this bee is just one of approximately 400 native bee species in Ontario? Many are solitary, ground or stem nesting bees. Honey bees get a lot of airtime but are not native, not threatened, and directly compete for very limited food resources.

This is from Missississauga's gem, the newly created Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area. I was told the tree swallows were entering the nesting boxes even as the workers were installing them. What a wonderful addition to our waterfront, and a showcase for how to turn industrial wasteland to a thriving ecosystem. ❤️ #jimtoveylakeviewconservationarea #mississaugawaterfront #lakeviewmississauga #habitat #creditvalleyconservation by @itzagr8day

The joys of going for a walk with a small prime lens can sometimes be forgotten after you get a big, telephoto lens. The sharp focus and dreamy backgrounds are so satisfying when you can shoot wide open like on this little 50 mm F 1.8 lens.
