October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and this month holds a personal meaning for me because I am a survivor. My journey is one I never imagined I would experience, but it became a chapter of my life that changed me forever. I know what it feels like to be afraid to go home, to question your worth, and to wonder if you’ll ever make it out. For the longest time, the pain and memories were something I was ashamed of but I learned it is a testament to my strength, my courage, and the life I chose to rebuild.

I share my experience because someone else may be silently living through what I once endured. I want them to know they are not alone. Abuse is not love, no one should have to live in fear or believe they have to stay because they feel like they have nowhere else to go. Leaving may not be easy and healing doesn’t happen overnight, but there is always a light on the other side.

Today, I choose to use my voice for those who haven’t found theirs yet. I want to help others recognize the warning signs, know their worth, find their courage, and understand that their story does not end with the abuse. Survivors are not defined by what happened to them, we are defined by the strength it took to stand up, heal, and keep moving forward. If sharing my story can give even one person the courage to seek help, to believe they deserve better, or to know that tomorrow can be different, then every part of my journey has a purpose. I stand strong because love shouldn’t hurt!

I have so much to celebrate.

I was honored to receive the STEmerson Pink Coat Award 🥼🧪🎀, and my heart is absolutely glowing. This recognition means more than words can hold because STEM has never been just a subject to me, it’s been the foundation of my curiosity, my confidence, and my calling.

Thank you, Emerson, for selecting me as this year’s STEmerson recipient. Your belief in my work and my voice means everything. As a rising college freshman, I will definitely take this accomplishment to heart 🌸

I started as a STEM student during my freshman year of highschool. And now I'm entering my freshman year of college as an entrepreneur. This is proof that innovation can shape every step of your journey. It definitely shaped mine, even through the times where I gave up and got right back on my feet to continue working toward my goals.

Through SpeakLife, I’ve made it my mission to advocate for girls in STEM to remind them that their ideas matter, their voices are heard, and their stories are treasured and remembered in every lab, boardroom, and/or classroom. SpeakLife has allowed me to turn passion into impact, using my voice to open doors for girls who deserve to see themselves in STEM.

I’ll always be someone who can talk for hours about science, creativity, and possibility because STEM didn’t just change my life, it gave me a purpose worth sharing. My mission statement? "Let's SpeakLife Into the Future, Together ♡."

This is a calling. This is YOUR daily reminder to lift up others with your presence, voice, stories, innovations, and accomplishments. Use yourself to guide others to true leadership, determination, and discipline. I'm only 18, and I can only be 18 once, so why now? I'll save that for a different post...

I didn’t make Top or place… and I’d be lying if I said that didn’t hurt. But at the same time, my heart has never felt so full. IUM gave me something so much bigger than a title, it gave me people who quickly became forever friends, moments that I’ll replay in my mind for years, and lessons that truly changed me.

This experience pushed me out of my comfort zone, helped me find my voice, and reminded me why I started. While I may not be bringing home a crown, sash, or placement, I am still so incredibly proud to have represented Tennessee and to share my platform, Stand Strong, with others. Because at the end of the day, a title doesn’t determine my worth, the way I grow, the love I give, and the impact I leave does.

My journey with IUM isn’t over… it’s just getting started. Thank you, Tennessee, and to every single person who supported, encouraged, and believed in me, you mean more than you know. A special thank you to Carley for walking beside me and helping me through this journey, and to Kendra and Brandi Jo for y’all’s guidance and coaching that pushed me to be my best. I’m so proud of the girl I was on that stage. She showed up with courage. She trusted her preparation. She led with purpose. She was present. She was joyful. She was ME.

To my directors, my mom, my coach, my friends, and every single person who poured into me — thank you. Your belief in me carried me through every practice, every moment of doubt, and every step on that stage.

These titles humbled me. And this journey reminded me that when you walk in your calling, God meets you there.

This is a moment I’ll never forget. And now, it is time for the final show. It's all in the hands of God.

This year, I walked home with 2nd Runner Up in Academic Achievement. For those who know me, school is my top priority… and after a tough first half of college, I’m happy to say I accomplished Deans List status this year, while balancing cheer and other extra curricular. It makes me thrilled that IUM celebrates our achievements on and off stage! 📚

Evening Gown competition is complete!

All required competitions are officially completed… now we await to see who the new @internationalunitedmiss royalty will be! I’m so proud of all the Miss contestants and our hard work put in all week.

My goal for this week was to show growth, no matter how big or small. My take away… to finish stronger than you started. Now time to eat!! See you at awards! 🤩
