eddie🪽🪽 im gonna be completely honest i don’t know what to say or how to write this right now

tuesday morning Eddie Gillette passed away.

for those of you who don’t know eddie, he was one of my best friends and was a completely, perfect, bestest friend anyone could ever ask for

eddie had this super power that at the moment of meeting him you all of a sudden gained this necessity to have him as a best friend.

cause yes, eddie indeed was a necessity

eddie was the type of person who had a million trillion best friends

that was one of my favorite traits about him.

that he had friends everywhere. he had best friends running around san antonio, los angeles, houston, atlanta etc. he could get along with anyone, make anyone laugh, and instantly meeting him your reaction was wow. i am not joking, his energy was one of a kind!
eddie, you helped me with so many life projects, you were my toxic bf in my first music video, AND grip, AND AD, AND catering, AND makeup artist, AND nurse. no one has ever in my life been so attentive to people’s needs or wants or desires and wanted to help them achieve their goals more than how eddie wanted to do that for other people. every time i showed eddie a song i was working on he would hype me up more than anyone ever could and he made me believe in myself.
eddie had another superpower to where he could make ANYONE believe in themselves. that they were the BEST at anything they did.
eddie was hardworking not only at whatever his job was at that moment but he was hardworking towards making sure he was doing everything possible to make sure the people around him felt good.

no one could make me feel seen or understood me in a conversation more than you 🪽eddie🪽 and that was only 1 of his many super powers.

he also could just turn any situation into something something and light which made every moment with him literally the definition of fun.

eddie was freaking FUN, if you knew him or met him at all, you know he just wanted everyone to be happy and have a good time.

i know many people can call him their best friend and that is something so Jesus like……

mi viernes.
acabo de manejar 20 horas de san antonio, texas, a los ángeles, california, con mi mami.
ella y yo a solas. estamos cansadas, pero para amarnos no. 🤍

comparte tu café con tu mami.
ríete mil veces al día con tus amigos.
sí, haz el ridículo.
pregunta lo que quieras.
dale piropos a los extraños y que te hagan cara de “qué rara”.
habla demasiado.

no todo el día andamos felices, nadie lo está 24/7, pero tratamos de disfrutar de lo que podemos mientras lo tenemos.

al perder a uno de mis mejores amigos, Eddie 🤍🪽, me doy cuenta de muchas cosas. no sé por cuánto tiempo voy a relacionar tantas cosas con él, pero por ahora es lo que estoy haciendo, y ojalá que eso nunca cambie para poder honrar al gran humano que era.

nos damos cuenta de cosas que uno no ve hasta que la vida y Dios te enseñan que este camino ya está diseñado. solo tenemos que confiar en nuestros corazones y tratar bien a las personas, lo mejor que podamos.

eddie, you had a mile-long line on the highway ready to send you on your way.

you had people wrapped around a building to say bye, sitting on the curb outside of where we finally said goodbye to you with mariachis because there was simply no more room for people inside.

you brought people together who haven’t seen one another in years.

you had the church fully occupied, overflowing with no more room for people to sit.

this is the testimony of the love you gave here on earth and the way you made people feel.

you are everywhere.

you always brought people together, and of course that’s what you did yesterday and what you’re going to continue to do.

i love you so so so much. thank you for giving us such a special goodbye and allowing me to sing for you.

eddie felt the need to create a closeness to so many people. no matter their past, their mistakes, anything, he didn’t care. he treated everyone the same. another one of eddie’s super powers.

eddie was made with a forgiving heart. he looked at everyone with never ending benefit of the doubt.
our friendship started at work but i instantly needed to be his friend. anyone who has ever worked with him or met him became his friend.

on our first set together i realized that he had this gift. a gift of wanting to be good.
he was always making sure everyone was okay, making sure everyone had water, everyone was rested, everyone was smiling, everyone was good. he just wanted to be good.
i had to be close to him, and when i met him that’s what i thought. who wouldn’t want to be around this.

consideration was not a trait for you eddie, it was part of who you were. you were full of selflessness and love and appreciation. they weren’t traits, they were you.

i will never meet anyone like him ever again in my life. and i am so proud to say that, because eddie is that special and forever will be.

most important… that’s what i want to share and take from his time with us.

eddie, my dream and inspiration is to share all the beautiful parts of you, that you left in us, with everyone else around me that i have in my life or meet along the way……>🪽🤍

you will be the goodness i carry and you will be the laughter i want to cause.

i still cannot believe this is happening and i am so sorry this happened to you. you did not deserve this.

this sucks and i want you to come back so badly but the beautiful thing is that now, we never ever have to say goodbye to you.

i get to talk to you all the time, i get to be with you all day, i get to ask you for advice whenever i need it and i will always be looking for you in any stranger i encounter.
