A new take on a Sondheim classic, performed in the round with one piano!

From one of musical theatre's most renowned composers, COMPANY is widely regarded as a musical that redefined Broadway in the 1970s by abandoning linear storytelling and focusing instead on a conceptual theme. This ‘concept musical’ follows Bobby on the night of a big birthday contemplating dating, marriage, friendship, and loneliness through a series of vignettes from dinners, drinks, dates, phone calls, and even a wedding. COMPANY features a brilliantly brisk and energetic score containing many of Stephen Sondheim's most famous known songs; and explores adult relationships with honesty, humor, and complexity. The strength of the piece lies in its vivid, flawed, loving, and relatable characters and their connections to each other. Through a simplified production concept and an orchestra of one piano, IVC’s production will focus on telling the stories of human beings seeking meaningful connection with themselves and each other.

General Admission. No late seating in the studio theater.

INTERVIEWS for Crew Opportunities Monday 9/21 from 6:30-8:00pm.

Interviews are required to register for crew classes. These short, informal interviews are a wonderful chance to learn more about the different Crew Opportunities that exist, to review dates and schedule expectations and availability, and to assess ehat crew credits students may need for degree or certificate.
