Rain, mud, and incredible Milton spirit at the Milton Invitational! ❤️💙 Congratulations to Ava for finishing 5th overall and first for Milton in the JV girls’ race, and to Brayden for finishing third for Milton in the JV boys’ race. We’re so proud of them and the entire team for giving it their all in the soggy conditions—and keeping the cup in the Eagles’ Nest! Kamionka, Poland 🇵🇱

Walking the land where my mom grew up and where her childhood home once stood -an old photo of my Babcia Kasia, my mom and some of her siblings in front of their little log home decades ago, and now another generation walking the same ground. 🤍

It was extra special to be there with my wonderful godmother Ciocia Stefcia, who showed us around-the old well that still remains, fields of oats, poppies and wildflowers, and storks nesting overhead. Relatives welcomed us with homemade cheesecake made from milk from their own cow, we ran into an old family friend riding her bicycle down the road, and Dad and Wujek Stasiu even took a little rest in the field. 😂

So heartwarming watching my kids experience a place they’d previously known only through family stories. The storks felt especially fitting-a symbol of home, family and returning. 🇵🇱 taken in Kamionka, Rzeszów, Poland by @ivonaw

European vacation documentation continuation:

One of those parts of a trip you could never plan…

A chance message from Marysia, a cousin of one of my best friends Dianka. I’d met her once, 25 years ago, turned into an unexpected evening together in Rzeszów. I accidentally texted her instead of our Airbnb host asking for the door code 😅…and a few minutes later, our doorbell rang ❤️. FIFA World Cup with cousins. Then on to Medynia and Aunt Stefcia & Uncle Stasiu’s—homemade blueberry pierogi, currants from the garden, beer cooling in the well, and traditional pottery heads that naturally ended up on our heads. 😂

Finally going back through our Poland photos, I’m realizing how some places meant more than I understood in the moment. ❤️🇵🇱

After Kraków, the trip shifted from sightseeing to family roots. We stopped in Kłodzko, where my dad grew up, before continuing on to Myślibórz to see my Ciocia Stasia.

Being in those places, reconnecting with family I hadn’t seen in years,and hearing stories—became one of the most meaningful parts of the trip.

Stasia brought us into her garden to pick wiśnie (sour cherries)🍒. Later, she took us to a place that held deep meaning after the loss of her husband, Jerzy. In the wildflowers there, I found a single poppy. 🌺

We officially have two new drivers!! Ava and Brayden passed their road tests today. It’s a milestone full of pride, disbelief, and “wait… how are they old enough?!” 😂❤️ Heart is celebrating while the brain is catching up.
