POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Five years ago today, I launched Ivy Paperie.✨

What began with a paintbrush, a childhood love of paper, and a curious desire to see what might happen has grown into something I could have never fully imagined.

Many of you know that before Ivy Paperie, I spent 15 years in the dental profession as a clinician, educator, and corporate professional. Starting a creative business at 40 felt both exciting and terrifying.

The turning point came in 2020 when a neighbor invited me to co-found a community flower project called Pay It Forward Flowers. Together, we grew flowers from seed and shared more than 150 bouquets throughout Yountville… a moment that unexpectedly awakened my creativity and ultimately led me to pick up a paintbrush for the first time.

There was no grand plan.
Just a willingness to begin.

Over these five years, I’ve painted hundreds of illustrations, designed stationery collections, taught workshops, collaborated with remarkable businesses, traveled with treasured friends with watercolor in hand, and met amazing humans from all over, through art.

But perhaps the greatest gift has been the permission to build a life centered around creativity.

🙏🏼THANK YOU to every customer, collector, retailer, workshop guest, client, friend, family, and cheerleader who has supported this little creative business along the way. 🥹🥹🥹💕

I still wake up excited to paint.

And five years in, it feels like we’re just getting started!!!

With profound gratitude,
Ivy💚

What a glowing day at the workshop, with the studio filled with light, learning, and warm guidance! From @lesfleursviasandra flower-arranging demo, where her heartfelt storytelling brought me to tears, to @ivypaperie calming and meditative watercolor teaching, every moment felt deeply personal and inspiring. It was such an honor to host these incredible talents and the people that shared the day with us! Thank you!

✨Bonjour! A special postcard for a special place.🇫🇷✨

Bistro Jeanty isn’t just my favorite spot for delicious and comforting French food, it’s also where I fortuitously met my husband. Two strangers at the counter. Without this beloved restaurant, it’s possible our paths might not have crossed some twenty years ago.

Creating this illustration was a passion project in every sense. It was an enormous joy to bring this custom postcard to life, celebrating the magic and memories this place holds for so many of us, locals and visitors. And a true full circle moment for me. Merci Bistro Jeanty! Enjoy!!~💌

To collect, display, or send to someone you love.

Introducing the first three postcards in the Wine Country Illustrated Collection —Sonoma, Yountville, St. Helena.

A little love letter to California Wine Country, each one hand-painted, designed, and thoughtfully composed to capture the places, detail, and spirit that makes these towns so special.

Designed in my studio, and now available at select retailers in the communities that inspired them.

Sonoma —Chateau Sonoma
Yountville —Honor Market
St. Helena —Hartford House

This was such a joyful and fun collection to create. Months of painting, editing, and obsessing over the tiniest details have led to this moment. More towns are already taking shape, so stay tuned.✨

From my watercolor studio to your home,
or someone else’s mailbox,
with love.💌📫

July 31. Always feels like that subtle turning point, like summer’s last chapter. I’m feeling a bit nostalgic today for…

Lawn games.
Picnics.
Cookouts on the grill.
Lobster rolls.
Boat rides.
Garden flowers.
And lingering warm nights.

Just sharing that feeling before the season begins to turn. Soaking it all in, with a smile.

Enjoy your weekend.🤍 taken in Napa Valley by @ivypaperie

France, shades of green💚🇫🇷

Before exploring France, I assigned myself a color.

Mine was vert.

Once I started looking, I saw green everywhere… awnings, flower stalls, painted shutters, lacquer doors in Paris, vineyards and chateau gardens in Loire Valley, and quiet corners of villages in Normandy.

A simple exercise in seeing France through one color lens.

A bit of spring cleaning in the studio.

Every tube, laid out and painted on a swatch, just to see the color more clearly.

Over time, I’ve amassed 30+ colors.
And yet, I always return to the same few.

Green has quietly become a signature in my work, always some variation of it.
Mixed, remixed, layered.

It’s become the foundation of Ivy Paperie. 💚

And never purple, well… only once and I nudged it as close to blue as I could.

Blue is said to be the world’s most popular color.
I always return to shades of green.
Curious what color you’re most drawn to.
