Introducing PSYCHOPOMP, a new collection of works by Zoe Milah DeJesus. Drawing on the Jungian concept of the psychopomp, a guide between the conscious and unconscious, Zoe introduces a cast of curious, otherworldly figures that explore transformation, uncertainty and the spaces between what is known and imagined. We’re delighted to present this new body of work through PROJECT 02 by IVY RC., marking our second collaboration with Chin Chin Melbourne.

The full collection is now available to explore and acquire online via PROJECT 02 - link in bio.

PSYCHOPOMP will be on view at GoGo Bar, Chin Chin, from Friday 16 October, with an intimate exhibition preview on Saturday 17 October at 11am. Spaces strictly limited, RSVP required - link in bio. by @ivyrconsulting

Weave No. 1 by Sarah ‘Smalltown’ Parkes transforms reclaimed silage wrap into a tactile, sculptural work that explores sustainability, waste products and our evolving relationship with the natural world. Through a process of collection and recontextualisation, discarded agricultural plastic becomes something both considered and enduring.

Available via PROJECT 02 - link in bio.

One room, three directions. Artwork above a bed can be surprisingly tricky. I’ve been working on this bedroom in a home in Clovelly, Sydney, where the curved bedhead and original decorative wall moulding create two very different lines to respond to. The client wanted to keep the palette with natural tones, so the works I’ve been considering draw loosely from the surrounding coastal environment through botanicals, landscapes and quieter studies of colour. Rather than automatically filling the space directly above the bed, I wanted to explore how the placement of artwork could shift the balance of the entire room. There isn’t necessarily one “correct” solution but playing with ideas that go beyond the obvious makes for some of the more interesting curations.

A collection doesn’t need to be built around a single medium, artist or aesthetic. For this edit, I’ve brought together a selection of works currently available through PROJECT 02 that I could imagine forming the beginnings of a collection. Spanning painting, photography, ceramics, textiles, glass and functional art, each has its own language, but together they begin to create a broader conversation. For designers and studios, PROJECT 02 can also be considered as a sourcing resource for residential, hospitality and commercial projects, with access to available works, commissions and tailored selections through our Trade Program.

Considering PROJECT 02 for your next collection or project? Get in touch to discuss Trade access and curated sourcing.

A new collection of paintings by Narrm/Melbourne-based artist Faith Spencer is now available through PROJECT 02. Drawn from fleeting encounters with light, colour and place, Spencer’s works occupy the space between observation and memory, capturing moments that feel at once familiar and difficult to hold onto. Working primarily with oil paint and gouache, Spencer builds her compositions through layered washes of colour, allowing remembered and imagined elements to enter the work.

The new collection is now available to collect exclusively through PROJECT 02.

What is a digital mock-up? One of the hardest parts of buying art can be imagining how a work will actually live in your space. Digital mock-ups are something I use regularly when working with clients, allowing us to visualise an artwork to scale within their home before committing to an acquisition.
Working across diverse briefs and individual client tastes, here are some examples of mock-ups that were presented to clients, bringing Australian contemporary art into their spaces while considering not only the artwork itself, but its scale, placement and relationship to the space around it.
If you love art but don’t know where to begin when buying for your own space, this is a great place to start.

PSYCHOPOMP
Zoe Milah DeJesus × GoGo Bar, Chin Chin

In Jungian psychology, a psychopomp is a guide between the conscious and unconscious mind, helping us navigate periods of transformation, uncertainty and change. In Psychopomp, Zoe’s creatures emerge as spiritual companions, protective figures drawn from the subconscious, offering company through moments of uncertainty and inviting us to listen more closely to our own inner worlds.

Presented by PROJECT 02 by IVY RC. Psychopomp will be on view at the GoGo Bar, Chin Chin, from Friday 16 October.

Join us for a drink and an intimate preview of the exhibition on Saturday 17 October at 11am. Spaces are strictly limited. RSVP link in bio. by @ivyrconsulting

Putting a sculpture in the kitchen. An unlikely placement, perhaps, but there’s a certain joy in bending the rules. This work by Angus Gardner was acquired at an opening without an immediate spot in mind. We loved it, so we trusted that the right place would eventually present itself. Somehow, it found its way into the kitchen and felt completely at home. Paired with a painting by Jedda-Daisy Culley, the two works create a punchy entrance to the Two Birds Talking office. Both are active, unusual works that demand attention, yet consideration of palette gives them a natural relationship to the space and to one another. Sometimes when you love an artwork, you make space for it. The rest has a way of falling into place. by @ivyrconsulting
